Hello everyone I have a 2004 Grand Prix. My problem which im sure a lot of people have is problem that my low oil level light wont go off. I have replaced the sensor twice already and each time it worked great for a few days then the light is back on. Yes I made sure my oil was up an such. I have no idea what too do now. I most recently unplugged the sensor but still the message comes back on. does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Why did you replace the sensor in the first place? A lot of sensors on these cars cannot be replaced with aftermarket options. It's best to stick with the original one, but if you can't, buy Delphi or AC-Delco. Otherwise expect problems.

Maybe check the wires going to the plug to be sure they aren't cracked/broken. Might give a false reading.

I have checked everything. I still don't have any luck with this. the message is still popping up even with the sensor unplug. I have a feeling its something internal or there is a wiring problem somewhere up the line. Does anyone have an idea on where the wires run too?

I have this issue in my 04 Impala and it seems to be a common issue with them as well. Replaced the level sensor with a new ac delco one and no luck. I've been told by a very trustworthy mechanic and friend that I should take out the oil pressure spring in the oil filter adapter and clean out in there as it can actually be caused by a pressure issue. My pressure appears to be fine via my gauge but I plan to put in the high pressure kit from intense and a new oil pressure sensor and see if that helps. I have oil it's just annoying to see the light.
