I have a 02 Grand Prix I need to know what the part is called in the exhaust that is right past the Cat. It has a bend in it for the 02 sensor. The last shop replaced the Cat and did the Spark Plug defouler trick. The Spark Plug deflouler has ruster away. It has broke off inside this piece I think it will be cheaper to replace it.

    Thanks

    Chris

The u-bend is part of the converter assembly. Why not just remove the defouler and install an O2 sensor?

    Or get a u-bend delete.... http://zzperformance.com/3800/exhaust/ubend-delete.html

you mean the foulers rotted out, ot the bung rotted off the pipe?

    how to make foulers works.

those two parts are like 5 bucks at the parts store. you drill one out like shown.

These are the options for replacing that.
Factory replacement downpipe with cat. Easiest option as long as the cat back bolts aren't rusted. http://www.amazon.com/Walker-54627-U.../dp/B001AGPEA4
Ubend delete kit from zzperformance. Cheapest option but will need to be welded in http://zzperformance.com/3800/exhaust/ubend-delete.html
Downpipe from zzperformace. The better option of these three, bolts in place of the factory downpipe, should be an easy swap as long as your catback bolts aren't rusted. http://zzperformance.com/3800/exhaust/zzp-downpipe.html
If you ever plan on modding your car I would highly suggest a set of headers, most headers on the market come with a downpipe that replaces that section.

Yes was getting PO 137 went to replace the 02 sensor and the fouler rusted away and part of it is stuck in the O2 sensor port. If I take it to an muffler shop can they cut the bend out and replace it?

if you still have the U bend int he dp right before the flange to the cat back, have that cut out and new round pipe with a bung for the o2 installed for sure.
