    Better question is who inspects their oil filter when their engine fails. Some I know but the history of this forum, slim

    Noboby, because the failure is already known.

    And these motors arent really sludge monsters unless you never cared for the car in the first place.

    I use Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 or K&N filter all the time. I also order for all my cars at the same time so it's no big deal.

    Mobil 1 oil and WIX filters in all my vehicles and change it every 5K.

    No clearance issues but I don't have a shelf full of half quarts of oil anymore

    If you want to learn about which oil filters are best / worst, get a hacksaw and cut the filter in half after you change it - then examine the filter itself. Look at a bunch of these yourself, and you won't have to ask on the internet any more

    I did once, but I already knew what the problem was. LOL

    Had a Fram oil filter on it at the time, so it must have been Fram's fault. LOL

    Wix though iirc they make the napa gold/platinum

    i used to do ac/delco but **** them and their Ecore junk

    wix has a new steel mesh backed paper media filter...i just got one to try out, ive never seen the paper media pushing through on a used filter but the reassurance is nice with the filter bypass deleted.
