He may have mods, IDK. And may not have known we were racing lol. But he started it. I was smiling like this truck-

All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

My speedometer started bouncing at lower speeds today. It also felt a little strange shifting from reverse into first and second gear. I pray it's the TPS or VSS and not the tranny. This sux.

Finally washed the 00 GT today. Taking it out to the company picnic tomorrow. Since I spent this past week in lockdown due to the kiddo having "close contact" with someone at school I haven't driven it anywhere and it was starting to look like crap. Nice and shiny again and will roll 470k tomorrow . Time for another oil change...

New speed sensor did not fix my bouncing speedometer. Car's parked until I can get it to the tranny shop. =\

That sucks man. I really hope it's not lunching the trans but good idea to park it until you can figure out what the cause is.

My trans has been on borrowed time as well. Was coming home from my company picnic today and jumped on it hard to get around some slow a$$ doing 28 in a 50 and when it downshifted it slipped hard and then banged back into gear when I let of it a bit. Pretty sure 1st gear is just about toast since I've had it do it pulling the hill coming out of my local gas station as well when I have to get on it some. Hoping I can limp it along till the end of the year when I can afford to have someone reputable build a new trans. for it.

When you swapped the VSS, did you check that the reluctor wheel is not loose or partially off the diff?

Fixed my bouncing speedometer. It was frayed wires going to the TCM. Now there's a slight discrepancy between speedo & HUD. Is that bad?

Just wrapped up swapping in a new radiator and both trans lines. Old rad was leaking in the core near the petcock and finally showed it's face enough for me to find. I'm just happy it wasn't the intake or something internal. Ran it for about 45min and bled it along the way. No leaks so far and have 154* heat coming from the drivers side vent with fan on 3 and the temp guage shows steady so I think it's good.

Ordered 2 new Conti's for it since the front end alignment is way out and ate the drivers side tire. Toe looks to be fooked. Will hopefully get that done next week. Gotta get my 03 CV LX Sport aligned first since I just did a complete front end rebuild on it and really don't want to eat the new Michelen's that are on it. Trying to cram all this car work in before it gets stupid cold is really starting to wear me out. I've spent the last 3 weeks in the garage at night off and on trying to get both the cars back to 100%.

I also have 2 paying jobs on pickups that need to be done so I need to get my own sh*t out so I can make some of the money back that I've dropped on my own cars, lol..

Nice trans. I need to have Dave build me a good one but until I can get some things done around here the money just isn't there. Just hoping it doesn't grenade itself in the meantime.

Topped off the coolant after the bleed and changed the oil while it was up in the air since I was over by almost 2K miles. Good to go until 474K now. Tires showed up yesterday so now it'll be hopefully off to the shop next week for alignment/tire install.

New shoes on and alignment done. First time I've driven the car this much in almost 2 months. Felt weird going from a 2012 Fusion to my lowered GP, lol.. Drives nice a straight again and so far no leaks. Just need to finish topping of the coolant and trans fluid and rock it. Feels nice to be back in my GXP seats again.

Went to the JY today in search of a factory catback that didn't have 21 yrs. of rust on it. Found an 03 w/ 137K on it and a clean system. Popped the rubber hangers and had the guy with the giant skid steer lift it up and out it came. Man, I forgot how heavy these things are, lol.. Lugging the entire system to the front required a break or 2. Got it for $27 out the door so not going to complain. Only part left is to break off and drill out the front flange bolts where it meets the downpipe. That **** can wait till tomorrow.

Might try and find some decent looking dual exit tips to replace the OEM ones while its out because why not.

Installed front and rear power logs, did the aluminum valve covers and a Hayden transmission cooler on my 2005 grand prix. Bad news, car now reduces power at high speeds with heavy acceleration and my coolant gauge appears to not be working now. 1 step forward 2 steps back lmao.

Not today, but got the replacement exhaust installed finally. New rubber hangers too. Fits nice again. And I did throw on some chrome dual exit tips finally.

Bad news is I checked my strut towers again and the pass. side is getting really bad. I'm going to have to start talking to shops real soon. Not ready to let it go just because of rusted towers if I can find replacement towers. Would still come in cheaper than buying a newer used car in today's market with unknown issues.

Last things I did were replace a wheel cylinder on the Model J, combo switch on the GTP, washer hose Y on the GT. That I can recall. They are all being very good and are a filthy lot.

At work... boyoboy... current project, a 55 Chevy. Nomad, with the roof cut off and "they" el camino'ed it with a 68 Ford truck cab back panel and window. Guy inherited it and the dad did it but was no bodyman. I opted to use a 55 Chevy truck roof skin to replace the hackery while keeping the same back window. Its an adventure and right now the focus is new floors and inner / outer rockers and making everything else. Until the inheritance runs out, I reckon. I used to proudly think I was getting all the hard jobs but I realize now that its the silly jobs. Wait, did I say silly? Shame on me, I meant sentimental.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
