Cleaned bolts, touched up paint on valve covers and blower, touched up some rusty spots in engine bay, ordered front struts, cleaned gasket poo off S/C and intake, etc. Also picked up all the tools scattered around the garage. Heads should be done this week and I'm ready to get this turd out of my garage. Longer it sits here the more crap I find to fix and the more broker I get.
That Camaro looks great Scotty! That color combo is sweet. After driving around in my friends '14 drop top V6 it almost makes me want to get one. Pulls pretty good.
@bandook- yea, need to quit looking for things and just make it run right otherwise it'll never leave the garage, lol. My 95 Bonneville started out needing just a windshield and now I'm in the process of sanding the whole damn thing down for a repaint/rust repair along with the new glass. And it needs to be done before winter.

Re: What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0
How long have you had a Camaro? I thought you got an SUV. Still got the Regal or no? How did you step from old heap to new toy?
i have all 3 cars still. daily drive the regal, hoe is for sundays super market trips and winter use. the camaro comes out on nice days. how do i have this car? penny pinched for 2 years and stashed every dollar i could. i bought it outright free and clear. picked it up this past april.
its a 13 2SS/RS one owner had 21,300 on it when i got it, it dont have 22 on it yet lol its a garage queen. its been tot he track twice tho lol cam and headers happens this winter, boost next winter. i want the DOD/afm cam gone before it fails.
already got it it dr's and wheels. 1200 bucks gone like a fart in the wind right there.

thanks!
the 6.2 pulls pretty good too. picture your friends car with a 100 extra hp. car does have a few draw backs. like them long ass doors, with me being so tall i need the door open almost as wide as it can go to get in or out, and most parking spots dont offer that kind of room around here. and lets be real. people are animals and dont give a crap if they slam their door into your car. of the daily driven dirty unwashed camaros i see around here, all got door dings. makes me cringe.
the color, ive not seen another this color yet. its "crystal red tintcoat". theres like 3 or 4 reds offered. i had it out yesterday and got 2 people saying thats a nice color. and the stripes are actually metallic silver. but look white, took me at least 5-6 pics to get the sun light right.

Cool, whats it run? I guess what I wanted to know is did you change occupations or something. Sounds like you could use one scissor hinge.
Since I am on the good device right now, heres a 455 for page 455-
best i got was a 13.5 @ 106. its getting a cam and headers and a dyno tune this winter. then next year some sort of boost.
im landscaping the last 4 years, just socking the cash away. i was unemployed for a number of years, had to stay home with my mother that had a stroke and then later busted a hip. but since she can be home alone again, i went back to work. its nice having money again i tell ya, the toys get better with funds lol

Re: What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0
i watch a bunch of them car rebuilding shows, a few are breaking down the 4 th wall regarding how long things take. guy starts out with flat stock, cuts it to size, then magic its 1/2 way there, then finished in less then 5 minutes, then they tell just how boring it would be to watch me work this part all day long.......tv magic makes it look fast and easy...we know the truth.

It sounds like you scope my blog, lol. Not promoting it but I usually update at lunch and supper times on weekdays so theres no fibbing. Some little things like the gas flap I just did are monumental time consumers. But, truly in some cases, shaping happens in minutes or seconds. You plan and make patterns and check it all to hell. Then you cut the piece, make the marks, spend seconds or a couple minutes at a machine and bam, done piece. Thats on brake and bead roller type stuff. I bet they don't show much of the patterning. I am the guy with scissors and felt tip ankle deep in posterboard scraps.

Got the rear spoiler for the Bonneville completely sanded down and ready for the 320 grit finish sanding. Also knocked down the drivers fender and door. Ran out of time/energy for today but I'm starting to feel like I have made some progress finally so that's a plus I guess. The JB Weld is set up nicely in the few holes that were in the edge of the roofline for the glass. Just need to sand it down and spray it again so it doesn't rust. Hoping to get the new windshield installed by mid-October so I can get it inspected.
@idrivejunk- What masking paper do you recommend for a repaint?

Frankly, any of it is probably fine but the price difference between good and crummy is worth having no bleed through. I have not done any paint shop stuff in a long time but what we currently use at the shop is Norton "Paint Check" white polycoated paper. When I did my own cars, I would get one roll of 12" and use it for the whole job and theres normally leftovers.

Re: What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0
FYI theres three rolls of 12" in a box. You might have to go to a walk in place to get one roll, I don't know. 6" and 18" are the most popular sizes and some places may not even have 12". If you are getting some of your other supplies locally, whatever that place has that isn't crap is probably OK.

I got the heater blower working on the 69, new switch. Found the aux cooling fan fuse holder autonuked itself somehow and was just gone. Melty plastic all over the wire ends, right next to the battery. Unhooked. Thats this year's problem. Been without defrost most of a year. Oh and I cranked the passenger actuator nub on the GTP heater box to hot. Didn't really bother the GT this weekend.
