Thanks for the advice!! I'm going to give this a try and find a propane torch. I see what you mean with the bolt end, so I'll watch out for that, and hopefully I'll be back in a few hours with new struts in place.

Tranny slipped a couple times in the GXP this morning 😡 Looks like I'll have to put off the intake swap and visit the Tranny shop instead.

^^^Even better. Tranny shop just told me warranty expired 4 days ago. I'll leave the car with them and have them look at it. Hopefully it's nothing.

BOOM! The front-end isn't a lowrider anymore! Amazing what the power of a sledgehammer can do to a bolt. I was so used to the squished suspension that I actually thought it looked too high haha.
Thanks again for the advice, next step is replacing the sway bar and lower control arm. I wanted to do the control arm at the same time but I couldn't separate the ball joint and knuckle so I'll wait for the new sway bar to arrive and do the rest in one go. I'm happy enough just being on the road again

^^^^ That gap will settle some soon. Don't forget to get an alignment soon (after your other f/e work is done).

Huh...Tranny Shop called and told me that my tune (Overkilled) is what's killing my transmission and causing it to not want to shift. They tell me the tune is putting to much line pressure on the tranny etc etc and that I really need to ditch the tune and should probably go ahead and get the tranny problem fixed. 😡

All the rest of my parts arrived in the mail, this one bolt for the sway bar is the bane of my existence (not my picture but its the one i'm talking about). There's like no clearance for any of my tools here, but it seems I can jack and loosen the engine cradle though for some extra room, hopefully. I'll give it another shot when the sun is low

easiest way i know is to put the car on jack stands via the rockers, then put a jack under the middle of the rear part of the sub frame, then loosen and back out both sub frame bolts in the rear about 2 inches, then lower the jack to the bolt heads, let the jack hold the weight.
now you can get a ratchet on that pos bolt.

I replaced the fuel hose section at the pump inlet on the 455. It got fat from too much corn in diet.

Headed to the shop to pickup the Achilles heel. Seems my transmission was wearing out in a very unusual way. Something about the clutch in 2nd gear wearing grooves or whatever. Idk transmissions are alien technology to me and it's fixed. Until next time. Now I get to put everything back together and once I'm done guess wtf I forgot when the car dosent run right. 😅 Whatever.

I'd ask to see the parts in question. Not that I don't believe what the guy is saying, just curious what that looks like.

^^^Didn't get the chance to ask to see the part. The shop was pretty busy. They fix your tranny, throw out the broken sh*t and move on to the next tranny. The description of the damage I was given was that the second gear clutch had deep grooves and scratches in it and that it was cooked.

Just got in it and drove me and my daughter around today on some errands. Been sitting for almost 2 weeks due to storms and me not wanting to risk hail damage, lol. Then I looked at the odo and realized it said 412K and some change. Time for another oil change too. Think I'm gonna have my daughter help me this time around. She's 10 so it's time to start learning more.
