Put the 3.4 back on

Yesterday I did this
Today I tried to figure out why my horn was fvcking up. I had an asshole pull out in front of me yesterday so I laid on the horn to let him know how much of an asshole he was and as I did the horn just quit. A few minutes later I tried the horn and it worked, then today it quit again so I decided to check it out.
After testing and finding I had power at the fuse, and at the relay I tore into the horn and found the connector full of dirt. Cleaned it out and cleaned the contacts on the horns themselves and she is back to normal.
I've been looking around at all kinds of stuff, but, specifically I checked an 02 Mitsubishi Montero. I'll likely pass on it though, unless they'd want to come down $1000. It doesn't have any major issues, but for the price, I've seen better, just not 3 miles from my house.
got it straightened out after LCAs,trailing arms and rear facing lateral links.
good thing. This time I did a 3 year since I need to replace my front Monroe mounts that are groaners since day 1. This time I will grease the bearing instead of relying on Monroe.
Same here, Monroe groaners. Super-annoying! What mounts will you get?
ACK! Monnnnteeeeerrrro? Sorry I asked, lol. Hut hut on the Stealth then.
Today I washed a Grape. Waxed the hood for fun. It never gets that. The paint is filthy. Had an offer of 7 grand this week, and if he had tossed on another grand he probably would have got it even though I don't want to sell. Neighbor lady that told this guy it was for sale came outside while I was washing it today... "You didn't sell your car?" Nope. Never wanted to sell it. She went back in the house. Hag.
I put a blankie on the battery today, cuz it'll get cold up here sooner than it should.
Yay!!!!
"Modded" the block heater plug this afternoon on my truck for free. All GM vehicles from 04-05+ have mini thermostats in the block heater plug in, meaning they only work at temps below 0º F.
So pop the cap off, basically destroy the thermostat dealio getting it out without snapping the metal tabs off inside that are connected to it. Then grabbed some 8 or 10 gauge wire I had and cut a mini section and looped them through the holes in the 2 tabs, solder them to complete the ground circut and bam you have a modded block heater plug in that works at any temp.
quoting my own azzz.
Today i said fvck it and had to see what the hell was going on. After taking off the Monroes They looked like they might not have seated properly.
The angled bearing plate on the passenger side had slipped from the stud arrows 2 inches.
When I put them together I remember trying to hold everything in position while loosening the compressors. It was a jiggly mess.
I went to Autozone and grabbed some Duralast mounts and bearings. I reused everything else.
The angled plate on the new Duralasts were snug as hell pointing at the studs unlike the loose Monroes.
I cut the first rib on the bump stops this time just because SSC but I dont think that had anything to do with the groan.
Either way I solved the noise with no extra grease.
Thats crazy and they groan?, aint that some $hit. So much for pre-assembled goodness.
That would be another nod to get KYB and other new stuff and rebuild them.
I could have done the whole thing without air tools but they were right there so what the hell.
Yeah I just kinda said to myself (in my best Hank Hill) "Those bastards" and went on because thats the way of my life. I just ignore / workaround / sidestep / compensate in everything I do. KYB mounts has been my only thought as I've listened to them for 20 or 30K miles. I have the original strut assemblies and air tools and McP strut tool available at work its just like pulling teeth for me to get in there. So I just continue lowering my expectations and all is well.
Put a new rad cap on her and changed rad hoses. Discovered while on a 100 mile drive (at night) that I have the dreaded headlight issue, checked the relay and it's new. Probably put another in and see if it works. But some good news from a buddy,he calls and says he has an '05 monte ss 3.8 s/c and an '06 monte ss 5.3 both in good shape for me if I want to hand him $1500. Time to ponder.....
