Not necessarily. I had zero leaks and was losing coolant. Someone suggested the rad cap and it fixed the issue. The seal can be bad to the point that water evaporates from the system.

Yay car parts. Soon to add 2 adjustable lateral links and 4 anti-pogo washers.

Not going to be used at the moment are the 2 rotors and the inner tie rod and the window regulator (it's coupe, I have a sedan)

Why would I want to save the boxes? The rear is already lowered, but the front has Monroe's and the rear is shot struts with SSC's

Because.. AGX's aren't a good option for lowering per KYB technicians. IIRC they said the travel of the strut isn't good for the area of the strut you are in when lowered.

A few locals have/had AGX's, I did GR2's (because I'm cheap). I had 100K on mine and they still felt great while those locals had swapped them out a few times on warranty. Soooo you'll need the boxes to send them back when they are bad. Sorry to be the guy to mention it.

The springs I have lower 1.8 front and 1.6 rear. But if I were to get Eibach that is only a 1" all around. Should I go ahead to get the Eibach while I'm at it?

Locals were on Vogtlands...so I don't see where it would make a difference.

Just keep the boxes. Likely only one will blow at a time and you can buy just one while they send you a new one.

Thanks Bill, I didn't know that. Guess I'll be getting Gr-2s instead of AGXs. Oh well.

So why would they make variable dampening struts if they knew they wouldn't work with at least a slight drop? Would Anti-Pogo washers help to fix this issue?

The strut to my knowledge isn't designed to be dropped. Therefore how the strut is designed vs say a GR2 is different and there is a thread on here were a guy had called KYB and talked to a tech regarding the best strut to use in a drop. He was told GR2 for a few different reasons.

Antipogo have nothing to do with how the strut is made and holds up.

As for your rhetorical question about why would they make variable w/o expecting it to take a drop, it's rhetorical. Might be worth a call to them to ask if another strut that isn't spec'd to a w body would be a better strut when dropped.

My brother is on vogtlands and AGX's. He has about 30-40K miles on that set up with no issues. His commute is shorter now but still no issues with being dropped. The GR2's he had on it wore out around 40-50K miles. I had B&G's on GR2's long ago that wore out sooner than that. Just my two cents.

The whole thing about "don't use this strut when lowering" has to be taken with a grain of salt. I have lowered hundreds of vehicles over the years, and have never had issues (as described above) with any combo of strut/spring etc.
