Got a msg from my mom saying that my dad had been trying to get ahold of me for several days. I hadn't had a phone for several days, cuz iPhones break when you drop them, apparently. Whatever. I called my dad and this is what he says "Hey, I got something for you, you owe me $40. It's something for your car. It's red and it goes above your engine."
It's a G8 hood. The scoops will get cut out and welded onto the GXPs hood. Dads been doing auto body work for decades and he's pretty particular about his work. Since this is nothing he hasn't done before it'll be a quality job. Just not sure when we'll get around to it but I think it will pretty bad@$$ when it's done!
Moms car decided to throw a p0420, so that sucks. Not sure what to do knowing most universal cats would probably throw the code again. Probably could do one of those and run an spacer on the rear 02 I'd think. I dunno time to search teh forums, i remember a guy a while back making a post about them.

I could do that till it starts really plugging up, i found a post by bronco boy about a cat/downpipe from walker that didn't set his check engine light. Its like 170 bucks shipped, worse comes to worse I stick a non fouler on it and it would probably be good. Odd part is it threw about 5 codes yesterday, stupid parts store guy didnt write them down. He said it was for the MAF, 02 sensors and cat efficiency. But the 420 is the only one that came back today. Her car was doing good after the ICM got changed it wasnt slip and banging into gear till my dad borrowed it and had a 4 hour highway run so the trans got pretty warm i bet and it was slipping like before.
The part numbers are a little different but the setup looks the same, an amazon review says it still set the check engine light BUT I'm pretty sure a spacer will solve that issue if it comes up. Plus I wonder if I could make some money back from scraping the cat.
Yeah, they just flow a little to much to make the rear sensor happy. I'm trying to convince my moms to let me just throw the spacer on it till it starts really clogging then I'll buy her a new cat.
Foreign cars are much pickier about catalytic efficiency than any American car I know of.
Really? I always thought GM cars were uber picky
Gm may be pickier than Chrysler or ford but Toyota's are worse
One exception would be a Buick that came in for p0420, replaced the cat and both sensor with OEM, and the code persisted. Did the non fouler which finally fixed it.

Non fouler didn't help my GT one bit with ZZP's 2.5" cat. Only ones I had were too long to put two though. Emulator for keeps.
Wait so if you didn't do a non fouler (two) what did you use?
Oh so you never used the non fouler at all, that's why it didn't work lol
