Oh damn. Thats just... ugh. Rough. I'd bet you couldn't interest a lawyer with it. Like me, when my broken wrist "wasn't bad enough" to deserve justice. Buddy I re-live that catching the airbag like a line drive and having both bags dogpile my forearm... every other time I drive. Changed my route to not have to drive over that spot. And the others from that year.

I HATE THAT. Chit doesn't go away. Piled bad on top of bad for you. And its always the thing you invest heart and soul in and / or depend on that gets destroyed by means beyind one's control. Yuck. More drag talk. I had a bellyfull today, even got challenged by a Mustang soon as I pulled out of the shop. Triple speed limit to shake him on a cold L67.

Lucky (LuAnne's BF) on king of the hill said it best:

"The world is cruel to shiny things."

So I replaced low side schrader valve and high side port on the GT today. Dude I let look at it last week pretty much just ruined the port with a pick tool which he left on the core support, said needs a line and shut the hood. I educated him and will retry.

What maybe you guys can tell me is where does the green O ring in the port kit go? Under the high side cap? New and old port have black rings, this green one is loose and would fit the flat on port and cap. Been baby steps for me learning about ports on these cars and I should have asked here.

If you don't hear from me it was a prewar Ford what broke this camel's back.

Damn Scotty, I'm not sure I could deal with that. What a sh*tshow. How hard is it for a shop to actually do something right the first time anymore?

Heck, the shop that did the black front cover for my friends' 14 Camaro brought it out still on the dolly into the sunlight when I went to pick it up and the owner pointed out one small area on the lower lip that had a flaw in the paint (the size of a BB). Said if I didn't like it he would make them redo it and pull it out. It was literally so small/shallow that I had to catch it just right in the sun to see it. Considering the rest of it was great I told him no problems and moved on. No sense risking a clean job for one tiny area that no one will ever see. He was so picky about it though and I appreciated that.

this shops game was to call me at 430 pm as the sun was going down. ( this was all over winter time) this was also supposed to be a 15 day job. 3 months later. i never did call a lawyer. i just let them have their one last chance, then i was suing their balls off if they fuked up once more. every receipt i got from that point on had and i will not sue lol like thats binding.

and thank god the air bag didnt go off. car would have been totaled. some how thats 12k in damage. there was some rear quarter damage too, very small, smashed back wheel. dented in lip on the front wheel. when it hit the rail and then spun around the wheel hit the curb, quarter touched the rail a bit. but i got tossed like a bean bag into the door and fuked my ribs up like never before. lost a week of work.

good part is i bought it for 21k even, tax title ect ect, out the door, its now worth 27k in stock form. from what i see, guys selling them modded are not taking a huge loss either on the mods. not that im ever selling it, plan on it being the last cool car i own. i can see it now. me 70 years old racing electric cars on the hwys lmao.

all the orange paint pen marks are obvious flaws you didnt even have to have the sun catch to see. saw all this crap as i just walked the car.

    white dot in that circle.

i wanted his blood and every last pos that worked on my car. lets look at things this way. good chance up to 3 people saw all that crap, the painter, the guy who wet sanded it, and the guy who polished it. not one said hey this is messed up. they all let it slide. and if it was all one guy, hes a huge pos. and the pos owner clearly dont look over the cars cause hes clueless. like im pointing out 2 areas that were not buffed, could still see the wet sanding scuff. hes like oh, thats just some crap. ill have the guy wipe it off. im like its not polished!!!!! and i was right, dummy came out wiped it off with some spray and it stayed there. see not polished. load of assholes.

Before, I meant to ask you Scotty if you are satisfied with the fastness of it or will you keep reaching?

I need someone to explain high side ports to me. Apparently the guy at work could not connect the A/C machine to the GT.

you should know, you always want more lol i figure meth and more boost and ill be happy. and some gears. 345 or 373. not really sure what way to go, has 327 now and they spin off the line at the track on dr's, if not for the 2 step launch control i installed, i think id be going slower. ive got it cutting 7 degrees of timing so it dont spin, timing ramps back in over a few hundredths of a second. aka rips out the hole now lol

The only way I could see it not connecting is if the machine is setup for R12 since those are screw-on type. The R-134A connections are quick-disconnect style (13mm on the low side and 16mm on the high side IIRC). Never had an issue getting my 134A gauges on my GT.

When you said two step before, I thought you meant nitrous lol.

I guess I used to know at some point, how it is. I had to chop off my hobby a decade ago, to take the job I have. First job where I can't work on mine there. Emergency fixes are all I do now. Just getting A/C back in one car now is more than I can make happen. I made one 14.2 pass with the 400. Went to try out the 455 and the line of rice waiting to get into the track was about a mile long. I knew then that I had been extinguished. What satisfaction there is to be had is just in hearing my last V8 still run. Just shift smirks to mask the slow shame, no big spendy grins. No idea how others can do it, my spirit has been broken. More power to them that can.

Perhaps today someone will let me know what the problem was. It has reached the point of being a ridiculous pursuit and I won't likely be making any additional efforts. Just glad I found out before investing anything in the GTP. Vehicle replacement required to have air, thats my conclusion. I replaced many condensers and recharged them all but never ran into a port I couldn't use. Did dinosaurs have feathers? Can't find out, just like this. I just have to use up what I have and scrap them but the pile could last the rest of my life.

Well at least I do know what d/r's are! Is there any situation in which which wheelspin is absent at full throttle in first gear? Thats an IDJ criteria for gauging logic.

The GT's A/C was connected but did not hold a vacuum. But that info had to come from someone not involved with it.

Satisfactorily completed my work task today.

So fuk everybody! (said in celebratory tone)

first gear is a spin fest at will. second is also a spin fest, at will.

Makes sense to be adding a 2 step and considering gears then.

I can say stuff like that now, being a senior citizen and all.

Bet this one is the same way and its brand new.

Thats an insurance Dynacorn. Only involvement I had in the job was a few years back when I drove out to look at the wrecked gennie. It was a fine ride that got smashed to oblivion.

Just finished reinstalling all the A/C stuff on the GP. All O-rings and threaded fittings received Nylog Blue this time around. The 24 and 26mm crowsfoot wrenches that I bought made the orifice tube nut bearable. Still a PITA but it's nice and tight. Plan on bolting the rest back together tomorrow and then pull a vacuum on it to see if I have any leaks. As much effort that I have into this I had better not or I might just break something, lol.

Choose a few things to break beforehand just in case. So you don't have to just grab whats nearby. Think good thoughts. My only remaining thoughts are of investigating retro underdash units. Nix nix though, for me AC quitting is a total loss. Junk again.

Reckon I've found myself at a crossroads today. Can't walk in and buy an oil filter for a 455 locally anymore. Count your blessings. One thing we can all be thankful for is me backspacing almost all resulting thoughts. Bad just won fair and square. I'll have to remove the laughter from my sig.

Got the GP completely back together today. Changed the oil and JB welded the muffler seams while I was at it since it needed both. Thankfully the drone inducing exhaust leaks are gone. Really need to get to a JY and grab another res-back but this will do for now.

Pulled a vacuum on the A/C for a bit over 2 hours and it dropped to 29Hg as needed. Let it sit with everything off with the gauges still connected and 2+ hours later they still read the same so I'm calling it good for now. Will take it back to the shop sometime next week and have it recharged and see what happens.

@IDJ- Yea, there are a few things at hand that I could rid myself of if my temper got the best of me. Done chasing wrenches that happen to find their way out of the garage at a rapid pace. Although the curse word venacular is still stong, lol..
