Well, if it does come back chuck a new gas cap on it and see if it shuts it up.
My MAP was giving me trouble... P0108 out of nowhere... Traced issue to the fact that the wiring had been spliced going to the connector. So the one great thing about having a parts car in your driveway, although my wife would disagree, is I went to the harness and found the connector to the map, cut back a foot or so of the wiring and soldered the wiring.
All is good now!
Except of course I wonder if the bad connection had caused any issue with the tuning earlier, but not enough to through a code?
I'll hook it up (HP Tuner) and see what she's saying!
Got a new dash cam.....
And the other night after fueling up, the fuel door wouldn't close all the way. This was in the way.....
I'm buying wheels today. My truck came with the Camaro style 14" steel wheels with beauty rings. In the spirit of keeping the exterior of the truck stock looking (minus my filled and shaved tailgate and S10 Blazer rear bumper) I'm picking up some 2013 Camaro 18" steel wheels. Ordered spacers/adapters for them to fit properly from Fleabay so next weekend they'll be on and looking sweet!
Nothing really. It stays closed, but feels loose when open. I suspect if I opened it while parked on a hill, it wouldn't stay open. Good thing gas stations are all flat. LOL
Over the past 6 months or so, I did notice that the door wouldn't stay completely shut; would poke out an 1/8" or so. This must have been that rusty spring binding a bit.
I will monitor it for a while and see how it performs. Might put a magnet on it for a more positive close.
Well the past week or two ive had a urge to mod or at least work on the car. Ive installed new foglamp assemblies, then installed new led fog lamp bulbs. Gave the car a decent cleaning, seats are better but drivers is still dirty from 10 years of being a mechanic. Replaced both front outer tierods, gave it an alignment. And installed 2 new tires. Kumho v720s....
And just ordered a bunch of cheap stuff. New slotted front rotors, some Hawk HPS 5.0 front brake pads, some regular ceramic rear pads, led head lamp bulbs to try out along with front turn signal led bulbs. Also ordered some front lower control arms, an intake gasket kit to try and fix my oil leaks and a used GXP leather shift knob.
Was able to fish out the RF brake line to replace it. Getting the old one out was harder than getting the new one in. I hate those stupid clips along the firewall. New one went in w/o much trouble. Didn't quite stay in it's "pre-formed" shape, but it was close. I bent it back into shape after install and left it out of the lower firewall clip so it isn't sitting against the insulation where it can rust out again. Bled the line and bedded the new pads in finally. Brakes were still smoking when I parked it so should be good to go.
Installed new Hawk HPS 5.0 front brake pads and some ebay Nakamoto slotted front rotors up, have some cheap ceramics for the rears waiting to be installed. Put some Moog from sway bar bushings up front too, these were a ***** to stretch over.
Also put some switch back style led bulbs in the DRL/turn signal up front. They are white awhile driving and switch to amber when you use the turn signal. Had to modify to bulb socket to fit so they would click in. Also bought resistor wiring harness that's already made so no turn signal error message.
More parts more installing. Today was regular ceramic rear brake pads, $55 a pair front control arms, led head lamp bulbs and a used leather shift knob.
I wish I had done the control arms long ago. The car feels new and completely different now. The arms have the ears for the other sway bar style but my car doesn't use them. Had to try them back so they clear my end links but kept most of it incase I ever swap styles. Had to use a hole saw to cut a hole in the headlamp bracket so the low beam led bulbs would clear. Now to wait til night fall.
did a test paint spray with the paint i bought for the fender flares i bought for the truck, the black they come in was not suitable. so color match it is. this was ordered by rpo pint code.
its pretty damn close.
That looks about as close as you're going to get for a red color. Should work out pretty good.
Got my new Cooper tires mounted on the rear of the Bonneville today. Been chasing a huge vibration at 60mph and suspecting that one of them was out of round since at low speeds I kept feeling a hop. Guess I was right as now it rides nice and smooth again. Now I don't have to feel like I'm riding a paint mixer to work, lol.
Had this come on this morning (P0113)....
Funny how I touched the wire and sensor yesterday. Will wait and see if it comes back.
Also noticed one injector leaking a bit. This could be why she is hard to start when warm. Went to my pile of parts, and turns out the GTP injectors I got in a trade way back are actually GT injectors. Yay!
