That reminds me, I need to do brake pads again.
I don't think I need lug studs just yet, but those R1's would be nice... The only problem is during winter they would grab so fast I'd end up sliding on the ice instead of just slowing down. lol
I'll just do pads and resurface the rotors, they're still damn near perfectly straight.
powerstop somethings from autozone-parts guys eyes got huuuge.
and yes on the new studs, bought this car with 2 missing from front driver side and one on the rear driver side....
I know the car has issues, been hit on the rear, looks like some snow slide etc... but i prefer to not ask questions. Gets me around lol
i get snow here, with f bodys and r1's, they stop so nice. its all how hard you push the pedal, the top 2 inches feels just like stock, its when you stand on em you go through the windshield. lol
if your abs works still it will still work as it should too.
mines turned off, if you lock em up you let off for a split second to let the wheels turn again, old school pedal pumpin lol
There's a big difference between NJ snow, and interior Alaska packed ice... During breakup you can find chunks 18 inches thick. The driveway made it to 11 inches year before last. Lol
And its not like other ice, salt won't melt it, it'll just make the top layer a sheet of black ice. That's why they never use salt or any chemicals up here, just a metric f*ck-ton of gravel.
I've slid a good 15 feet only going 5mph. Legit winter tires help more than anything... I'm gonna miss having Blizzaks. Lol
i know what you mean, we get that here too, it just dont last all year and build up, r1's wont make you slide more or less. your foot is in control just like normal.
I tend to be more forceful when I see a car sliding directly towards me, or a big ass moose. The fact that it stays dark all the time doesn't help. lol
Swapped in a new triple edge performance trans with dorman drain plug pan. Gonna do an auxiliary cooler and power steering flush soon. I lost OD/4th gear awhile back. I will tear apart old to confirm if the shaft splines stripped. Got it done in 9 hours straight.
I am so happy because today I get to pick up my 69 GP's front wheels with new tires on them. Rears are also bald but this is progress. Got probably 50K or more miles out of the old Goodyears which have been on it since 2005.
Sigh, truck should have been back up yesterday. I shipped the VB off to KC, MO, which took 3 days (thanks USPS) then he modified it and sent it back (that took 1 day, good job Fedex). Problem is he mixed up my VB and another guy's in MS. So now I had to chip the VB I got to MS, and we're waiting on the guy from MS to ship my VB to me. Probably won't even get it this weekend. Damnit! At least I bought some tags for it. $19.25 and all was well, awesome...Now if only I could DRIVE it. Ugh.
Nope, not at the moment, at least. I'm sure he'd give me a deal on something in the future and he's been a wealth of advice during the last few months. As long as the truck drives\shifts like it should, it'll be worth it. When I first e-mailed him an auto-response saying that there would be a 2-3 week turn around, and technically, he'll be within that, lol. I'd be more pissed if I was the other guy, lol.
Came to a stop light today with nobody around...randomly decided to turn off traction control and see what she's got. At least lit up one wheel for 10-15 feet, then got up to 60 pretty quick (for me anyway) I've never beat on this car, so I just wanted to see what the ol 3.1 liter had.
