400k is damn impressive!

Installed a second LED strip in the trunk; AA battery powered and shuts off after 5 minutes. The stock light which is also an LED strip turns off after 45 seconds and that bugs me.
You need to figure out why it only lasts 45 seconds lol. I read my owners manual before I sold my 02 and it mentioned 10 minutes lol. Try hooking the stock light back up in addition to the leds

Back to the roof rails..... I think they look fukking GREAT! I'm also a big fan of how the stock tail lights look! Haha. I'll fight anyone right now! LOL.
I'm not a big fan of the roof rails. Especially for the price. Maybe just vinyl wrap the OE ones.
I used code SCW227 [expires 6/12/17] to get 30% off at Advance. That and a 20$ reward got me a CV Axle Assembly for $38.19 out the door. Lifetime warranty, no core. I replaced an outer boot that had a cut with a "split boot only" just to pass inspection, a few weeks ago. So if that doesn't last (lots here say it won't) I have a replacement on hand. Bonus, it'll fit our other 2 cars as well.
Drove it for little over an hour and went through an eighth of a tank...
Odometer says I went 7 miles.
So I got a quote of $120 to paint the roof rails today from Maaco. I have been out of the paint game for awhile but I was expecting like $50-75.
Body shop prices are no joke nowadays. Gotta know a body man to get stuff cheaper.
The other day my dad was on his way home from work and a large tree branch was in the road, the truck infront of him barely missed it but my dad couldn't move over enough in such a short split second time as well as a car being beside him. Branch smacked the bumper (somehow no damage to that) and the big part swung around and nailed the fender just after the tire and crunched it all in. Kinda lucky it's just a fender that needs replacement but because it would be a collision claim we are paying out of pocket for a new fender/paint. Already been qouted anywhere from 300-500 just for 1 fender and paint.
Car only has 60k on it and been parked inside most of it's life so paint fade isn't a concern and I buff it like once a year but damn do they want a lot for body work. I'm going to install the fender myself to save my dad some money.
And junkyards want $150+ to ship a fender because it's freight sized once they box it. Makes a 80-100 already painted fender into a 250-300 dollar fender that I risk shipping damage on. Better off buying a new fender at those prices.
I'm afraid to get a quote on my Inferno hood!! Plasti-dip here I come
If you got the time and the right touch you can make them look really good. Good even coats of paint, then some nice wet sanding with like 2,000 grit paper. Even clear coat and some buffing will make them good for even spray cans.
I don't have any pics myself, but we rattle canned, wetsanded and buffed my brothers 03 Eclipse Spyder and considering how bad it looked when he bought it it looked 100 times better after the rattle job.
