Today the radio stopped working in my 2000 GTP. I checked the fuses, the wiring. I tried bench testing the radio and I cannot get it to power up. I just have the treble and bass sliders, but can I put a radio with the 7 band EQ in.

I have bose in my GTP if that makes a difference, I dunno. That is why I am asking.

I saw this on Ebay, and it looks good. I want to keep the steering wheel control working so I don't want to deal with aftermarket parts to make that happen. I would really like a stock radio with the 7 band eq if that is possible.

a 7ban EQ will work perfectly fine in your car

and you would have to be soft in the head to spend that kind of $ on a stock delco radio for these cars.

JY's typically want anywhere between $26-75 for one of those radios...

They can be had on here in the classified for around the same price. Depending who's selling it, shipping is included.

I have a spare 7 band radio that worked when I pulled it out of my 97. It's up in the attic. I will see if I still have it later today. Pay for shipping and it's yours to mess with.

I'll think about it. GPs are a dime a dozen around here in the yard.

I didn't know you retired your old GTP that is too bad, but that GTO now that is a nice upgrade. I have been looking at getting a newer car to play with and I have been looking at GTOs and G8s.

Well, if you need it, I have it. Should fit in a flat rate $12 box.

If had found a G8 the day I was looking at the GTO...I would own a G8, but this one caught my heart. The family loves her.

Nuts to keep the stock unit with what's available today!... If you are an audiophile that is... If you don't give a hoot, then replace it with a JY unit. Even with BOSE, you can't compare the crap they throw in cars to what you get if you handpick and match your own speakers, headunit and amp.

    Just sayin! : )

If you dont care then a used stocker is the way to go.... personally I would go aftermarket... But I am an audio snob.

Hey I got one with 7 band EQ. And it has the auxiliary mod done to it. port is coming out the back of the unit (somewhat professionally soldered, done by a buddy of mine who solders for a living). Its sitting in the garage minding itself. You can have it, just pay for shipping.
