Hello again guyz, I posted in WTB exhaust tips looking for said exhaust tips and a GT bumper. Also in this section too about "dualing" out the car. I went to the junkyard this weekend and found some resonated exhaust tips on a Monte Carlo. (also found other goodies) I cut them off and it's a 2.25 inlet so it's the inlet size, with a 3.5 inch outlet. I want to know, what's the real difference in sound between a resonated tip and one that isn't resonated? Does the resonated tip make the muffler sound deeper compared to a non-resonated tip? Does it make it louder or quieter? I have a Magnaflow #11225 and I'm ordering another one. Also, the dude at the shop would sell me a used magnaflow muffler. It's in/out is 2.5 but someone put a 2.25 adapter/tip on the inlet. He says it'll be the same sound, but I ordered a #11225 though Amazon just to be safe. I know the used one can fit, but would it really sound the same. My muffler has a deep, mellow tone to it, Since Magnaflow mufflers don't have part #s on them I measured it and it looks to be a #11226. I listened to a few of those muffler sound clips and to me it's not deep enough. I researched the muffler that I have on right now because I wanted a deep, calm tone. Of course, the 11226 isn't on GPs since it's 2.5, but the guy said it'll be the same sound as a 11225. Any thoughts about that? thanks.
here's a pic of the tips, just $20 for both.
