It's a 98 and any of them could come with slide or flip

Wow, I have never seen a 97-03 GP with that kind of sunroof. I own three of them and they all have the same thing. Not that. Disregard my previous posts please.
As far as removing the headliner in a 98 GP, well I have had it out of a 99 coupe a couple times. Not too hard, you can almost do the whole job reclining in the passenger seat. Areas where I found it hard to not break stuff were at the top of the A-pillar trim, and the courtesy lights above the seat belts on the B-posts. The sunroof surround can be difficult as well, it wants to crack but thats on MY type roof. Visor connectors are glued to the headliner but can be yanked through the mounting hole for easier disconnection.
Not convinced it's a factory sunroof. If you don't know what you have all the advice you're getting might not be of any help.
Yeah it's an option for 90% of cars whether or not the car came with that style. They have that as an option for cars that have aftermarket sunroof. Trust me, the 98 Grand Prix never came with that style of sunroof unless added by an aftermarket company.
not trying to be smart a** about it but go to Kellybluebook.com and enter the info for a 98 gt then select gtp package and it says sunroof slide or flip, the car IS factory

So the dealer put it in and Neil98gt I didn't mean to come off as of being smart it looks that way in txt but if anybody has a 98 with a sunroof please open up the fuses and take a picture of the box inside of the glove department, and I'm going to take a picture of the buttons in a second

http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...hlight=sunroof ok go to post number 3 and the screws on the side is my problem, the middle screw on both sides
ok on my other post i posted a picture of mine, mine has wires coming out of it and going into a external fuse box,how could everything work so good if its aftermarket, did they have to order a headliner and buttons/lights?
Someone could have had a nice kit and done a nice installation, sunroofs have come a long way and people can do good work. The roof and headliner would be cut if its an add-on. Ones like mine have a stamped 90 degree flange at the opening, if yours has just a metal cut line under the rubber edge its an add-on. RPO codes should help confirm, but that wiring job is the big hint.
The headliner is shaped for it to slide under and at the front for the lights,I'm looking at the codes now

I'll check back later (not like I'm really helping anyway). Gotta go burn Saturday evening rubber and maybe find some rice for supper.
I would have to agree that that is a dealer add on.
