So i cant shift out of park unless i press.. which i believe is the override.. in to the left while pressing the shifter button to get it out of park, will shift fine into all the other gears, 98 GTP, i think it might be the shift lock solenoid but there are many things it could be down there. the fuze for the BTSI is good, so im stuck at this point..

if you take the console out, on the shiftier is a plug, this plugs wires can break off or get damaged.

theres a post here where a guy is selling the metal pins, so you re pin the bad wire, and push it into the plug, aka good as new. its got a vid with it, and its not in the how to section. i think its some where in general maint.

if the wires look ok the solenoid on the shiftier could be dead, and im pretty sure its part of the shiftier, so junk yard is the cheap way if it comes to that.

what if i was to remove the solenoid and drive without it? i believe it just doesnt require brake to put it in and out of park if you remove it?

I had another weird malfunction, I stepped on the gas in 1st and when it was getting to mid-high rpm's, it sounded like backfiring but it was also like hesitating to shift and like not providing all the power, TC? Maybe even a blower problem? Could be anything but it's not normal again..

I had the same problem. Take the shifter apart and look for wires that could have split, then solder back together.

Yes I know, I touched them a little bit, but as long as they aren't yet, I'm not going to mess with them until they do snap of they do
