    Hi All,
I have tried to remove the bolt holding the tensioner pulley to the tensioner assembly. What am I doing wrong. I know the bolt is reverse threaded so I am turning the bolt to the right. I am using a 15MM socket on a 1/2" drive ratchet. How tight is that bolt on the tensioner Pulley. The pulley is a bit woobly so I am in the process of replacing it. I am the original of the vehicle and am sure the pulley has never been changed. The vehicle has 137,000 miles on it. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah one of those bolts is reverse the other is normal threads. Forgot which is which. If its too tight put a pipe on your wrench to create leverage.

You turn clockwise. Aka the tensioner shouldnt move as you are try to take off the pulley.

Breaker bar(what I use) or a length of pipe on your ratchet as suggested above shoud get the job done.

Tensioners are easy to figure out which way to turn to loosen. It's the opposite way that you push to relieve tension when doing a belt. Because each time you put a belt on.. you tighten that bolt a little more.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I had a slight problem (CF) when trying to remove the 3.0" smooth tensioner pulley from the Supercharger tensioner assembly. I thought it was reverse thread(lefty-tighten and righty-loosey. Big mistake! Broke the bolt. Was able to drill and remove the broken bolt with an Easy-out. Decided to purchase a whole new tensioner assembly with the pulley already installed. I now have a spare 3.0" pulley which should fit the rear tensioner assembly for the alternator, water pump etc drive belt. Is this pulley removed like the SC tensioner assembly was? By that I mean standard righty-tighty and lefty-loosey? Don't want another "CF"! LOL. Will be changing the nose on my SC soon. Is starting to sound like a box of rocks on start-up. After warm up it quiets down. I had replaced the whole unit only 45,000 miles ago. Always checked the SC level. Oh well. Love my GTP anyway. You all have a nice weekend.

Just replace the coupler with a new eaton green one, that will stop the rocks in a bucket sound.

The snout does not need to be replaced.

    Hi Fivefingerdeathpunch,
Thanks for the money saving advice. I spun my snout pulley by hand and the bearing is tight in all directions. I do hear a sound coming from the rear of it where the coupler is found. Where do you go to get a green coupler. I found a place called DeRossi that sells them. Have you heard of them or have purchased a coupler from them?
    Thanks,

Thanks for the info dsmuts. The rattling sound is heard only on a cold start-up. Once the engine is warmed up for a few minutes, the sound goes away. After it is warm, no rattling sound is heard again and for as long as the motor is started warm no rattling sound. If I remove the SC drive belt and start the engine up cold to see if it is the SC, will this damage the motor or the computer at all? thanks for any input.

It won't hurt anything if it's the coupler
