    Howdy everyone,

I'm a newbie to these forums. I got a 2008 GP standard model about a year ago. It has been the most fun to drive car I've ever had. Spent most of my life driving cheap compact cars or boring sedans. Never had a car that I have enjoyed driving so much as this. Had no serious problems in this year (I know- knock wood). I replaced the stock cd/radio with a Dual stereo that plays MP3 from usb drive or sd card. Got the door chimes module etc for cheap. My only minor gripe is that to upgrade the rear speakers will have to remove the rear seat & it's too much effort for now.

Since Pontiacs are destined to gradually become rare, I wanted to find some kind of model of the 2004-2008 Grand Prix. I searched for plastic kits and diecast, closest thing I found was a 2003 NASCAR version diecast, 1/64 scale Hot Wheels size. I also have a 1/43 NASCAR 2000 model, but it looks too different from the 2004-08 body.
I had an idea: I could get a 3d software model and have a 3D printing company print me a plastic model. Would be very expensive but the detail should be good. A 3d model of 2004 Grand Prix is available on the web, but it costs $130 to $200. This is for the computer model only. Having it printed (molded) will cost even more. I was thinking if we could get a group of owners together we could cut costs. Anyone else interested?

After a little bit of online research, I see that the 3d printing technology is not always simple to do for a given design. I don't think a model car is quite ready for production yet. Soon, maybe..........
