Okay so in the 97 gtp there are 3 parts of the evap system:

    1. The evap canister purge valve
    2. The evap canister
3 The evap switch ( only in the 97 to my knowledge )

I removed the the the purge valve and I am using the evap that comes stock on the gen V blower.

The hoses are going from the evap on the gen v to the switch which is then connected to the canister, like so:

Do you see the third hose with the 90* bend in it that isnt connected to anything? What should it be connected to? Do I even need the switch?

    Next question,

Because I had a 97 blower with the extra vac tree, like so:

Do I need to run the vac hoses like this now that I have the genV blower?

In other words, do I need to connect a hose from the nipple on the lim under the sc snout to the fuel rail?

Easiest way to do this is hook the evap line to the Gen V evap, hook the evap purge soleniod electrical to the Gen V evap soleniod and kill the code for the switch. The switch was a goofy secondary way that GM held it back etc. In 98 they didn't use the second piece and things worked well.

So what your saying, basically remove the switch. Then connect the evap line coming from the evap canister to the genv evap.

I don't see it in your pic..but I assume the evap soleniod is in your gen 5 still. Hook the line to it.. then the connector and poof..

That's what I did on my 97 Bonne

Lol what line? The one from the switch or straight from the canister ?

As of now it's going canister>switch>genv evap. With the connector in the genv evap

    That shoudl work too..

I'd run from tank to evap.. done. Dump switch. Taht's me though.

and FWIW that extra 90 degree elbow..it goes no where. It's a vent

and...GM only used this goofy setup in 96 and 97. W bodies didn't really get the 3.8 in 96 though, so most of you wouldn't have come across it.

Okay cool. I was just thrown off by the switch and the extra hose.

Now one more question, do I need to put a T on the vac source under the sc snout and fpr then connect the two?

oor can it stay like it was when I had the 97 blower.

You need a t on the under snout to feed the map sensor and the fpr, plus the boost soleniod if you have it.

Okay, the way I have it now it's just the fpr connected to the boost solenoid.
