    Hello fellow grand prix awesome dudes,

    As you may have read in the title I want to play a game! The game of Broken parts! I recently after having my transmission fixed 2 weeks ago rear ended some one with my precious grand prix. Now I now need your help! I want you to guess what is broken and guess the total rough estimate. I know most of what needs to be repaired but i just want your valued opinions! Provided below will be pics.

    HINTS/ CONCERNS:
    1. The main issue is the radiator support. ( considering going with this one = More Information for VARIOUS MFR GM1225170)
    - Radiator is also screwed with it.
    2.Not worried about hood and bumper... Junkyard for that.
    3. The metal headlight brackets that attach to support are done.... (where can i get these?)

    Well then guess away! Ask questions at will! Im trying to get a final estimate with parts prices.

    AC Condensor is fine. Impact didn't reach that far.I plan to straighten out the strut to C/S. Fans still work that i know off. Will check again tomorrow. Have not started car since accident.

    But yeah your right, core support is biggest issue. I dislike how its a welded part. Does the link to the one i provided seem right? I have seen the average price for on between 75-100. I was expecting more.

    The Ac condensor sits infront of the rad, that got hit first.

    From the pictures it looks like you have some sort of aftermarket mini cooler just under the hood latch. Maybe that is a trans cooler or a cooler for something else.

    But where your hood latch that bent and pushed in, that is the AC condensor. Its pretty thin and likely broken/smashed.

    The coolant radiator is behind that, its what you see through the fans in the engine bay.

    If the AC condensor is broken, all the freon in the AC system is gone and will no longer work. A new one is needed and a re-charge of the system to make it work again, along as no AC lines are damaged upon further inspection.

    Hmm reason i asked is cause AC worked fine after accident. Ill check again tomorrow since it has been a week and if it were to have leaked, the freon would most likely be gone by now.

    Did the airbags blow? If not.. you are in decent shape.

    Cam seems to have missed the bumper cover, foam, bumper support. I'd hit up the local jy's and see who has a black one. Then pull most of the nose worth of parts that you need. Prices are typicaly better when done in a big chunk.

    Poor Otto...ran so fast out of the trans shop that now he'll find his way to the body shop.

    Sorry Cam.. I've had enough of them apart to know that from what he showed us it looks good, likely it needs to be replaced for the rest to line up correctly. I'd bet theres an underlying issue.

    My apologies to you FFDP, Your right... im an dummy. The condesor does need replacing along with radiator. but then again your are also a bit wrong... While Bill Boost is right. Bumper support will need to be replaced the top of it took a beating like he mentioned.

    Points standings:

    Bill boost: 2 points
    FFDP: 1 point.

    Further info to help you help me... :

    Went to biggest junkyard in my area today as a scouting trip to see what is there... Found atleast 5 great condition front end grand prix's that would donate greatly to otto. Found one hood that is black but will need to be repainted anyways because of light scratches and 3 rust spots. Found 2 black bumpers but one was super screwed on one side and the other had a tear the length of a car key in it.. Will be going with another perfect burgendy front end and getting it painted. Luckily the black cars are perfect donorrs for To the hood release!

    Essentially Otto took a nose dive under a focus... quick question do you think it is possible to bend back the Radiator support... or should i just go online for a new one?

    Furthermore here is a small part list I gathered:

    Radiator support =Online (pending on above question.
    Radiator =Junkyard
    Condensor =Junkyard
    Hood latch =junkyard
    Hood =junkyard
    Metal Headlight brackets =IDK?!? (please help on this one
    Front bumper == junkyard
    Front bumper support = junkyard
    Headlights =Forum
    Hid Bulbs =Ask Haydon
    Transmission cooler = IDK... extra...? last owner installed, got crushed by hood latch bar connecting to bottom of rad support. crushed a little but Isnt leaking to my knowledge.

    you do know that the radiator support is welded in place? you can bend it back slowly but you have to make sure its perfect.

    as for your headlight buckets i sold a set a few months ago if you need some just look in the junk yards i find them in tact all the time.

    Very aware of this aka why im considering it taking it to a shop to do just the support cause i no have welder.

    Furthermore,
    As far as i can tell those "buckets" are welded on as well arent they?

    That depends on your definition. When I say buckets im talked the plastic headlights. If your talking about the support behind the lights well sorry thats the radiator support it hold the radiator in place and is a female dog to replace.

    Your best best is to take all the smashed up parts off the car and take pictures. Then you will what you need and then you can go part hunting also call around to find a local part shop that sells body pannels.

    I was not talking about the plastic ones... I was talking about metal ones that go on the radiator support and then that the plastic ones go onto.

    Furthermore.... The only "body panels" i need are bumper and hood... front fenders didnt even get touched. As mentioned... Junk yard has all the parts i need...

    Can it be.. well yes anything can be bent/fixed if the tools used work well.

    I took this with bent radiator support

    And blown bags

    Along with broken fender

    Even a broken windshield.....

    And here is it soon after

    To bend the rad support.. I took two serious car tie down straps and put them on the sides of the radiator around the support and blocked the wheels. Then backed my truck up near it and blocked it's wheels. Off the tow hitch I used a come along and slowly pulled. Then let it loose..measured, pulled more and adjusted the straps to where I needed to pull. This was a long process and slow moving, but it worked very well.

    I'd say get the parts stripped off and figure out how you are fixing this one crucial piece.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
