Well I am adding headers to my recent purchase 2001 grand prix

I tried to roughly lay them out on the floor. I keep playing with the pipe set-up. What am I doing wrong here. Looks right but I am not seeing this work on the engine.

Where are you guys getting those fat clamps and what gaskets. The e-bay gaskets look like cardboard.

If you're talking about these clamps, they can be found at an auto parts store in the exhaust section.

    Or these, band clamps.

That looks about right, of course the pipe would go down when on the car.

The piece in the plastic goes just before the end piece on there and I think you have the crossover backwards but i'm not sure. You'll know which way it goes once it's going in the car.

    They will work.

It helps to have them up off the ground and level like this.

Just pick up some band clamps and make sure to RE-USE the stock manifold gaskets, the ones that come with the headers suck.

Cool. How come these headers say they only fit the GTP model?

Because who mods a NA motor?

The internet can label things however they want to, so they just say GTP. Its up to the buyer to figure out for themselves that the 3800 block is exactly the same for L36/L26, L67/L32.

lol ^ funny. Ok thanks for clearing that up, I knew they were the same on the exhaust part, just didn't understand why they would say that. I'm sure I'd gain high end power with headers, as currently my high end sucks. I hear you lose low end when doing that, which I have too much of anyway.
