Just bought a 1993 GP. Nice and near mint condition- but the glove compartment is locked with a combination lock and I don't have the code. Any suggestion?

Big ass screwdriver
We got the car from a local "preowned" dealer who specializes in Suburu- but he goes weekly to auctions and he'll buy good deals of any brand. He's trying to track down the last owner who may have the code. Another option is to ask a General Motors dealer if he may have some trick or special tools to open the combinination lock- of course there are no more Pontiac dealers. I suppose another option is a lock smith? Well, I just thought possibly somebody who is active in this forum might know a trick.
Couldn't you just unscrew the bottom of the glovebox where it attaches to the dash and swing it out enough to get inside and trip the latch? Done this on several cars where the latch breaks and sticks it shut. I know it may not help the combo thing, but who knows maybe the combo is in the glovebox?
"using a flashlight peer into the number wheels while turning them. When you come across a slot in the left side of the wheel that is one combination for that wheel. Do the same for the other 2 wheels and the glove box will open.
Note these slots are located at the center of the wheels axis
PS the default setting from the factory was 000"
