    I am a newbie so please forgive me now if I dont ask this question correctly, I have to change my fuel pump and was wondering if there is an access door in the trunk or behind the back seat of a 2007 grand prix....thanks for any help

    Sorry but there is not a access panel in the trunk. 2004 was the last year for that.

    And you are sure the fuel pump has died?

    Never died as of yet but makes a humming noise, I guess the gas tank has to be dropped.... Do you think the noise would stop with changing fuel filter?

    The fuel pump is supposed to humm or a where type noise . that means its operational nothing wrong and if you aren't suffering any driveability issues don't touch the fuel pump. But yes tank must come down and it helps to drop the exhaust out the way and then unplug all the lines and two fuel tank straps have to be undone and the tank will come out

    My fuel pump whine/hums like nobody business, its always made that noise on both of my cars and its not an issue. Its a GM pump, they always end up making noise.


    Just let it be and save yourself some money.
