There is a local guy selling a '97 Grand Prix for $500.00. I was thinking of getting it for spare parts / parting out, and maybe using the engine as a rebuild project, maybe build it up with good parts and a blower, then swapping it into my 2003. Here is the link: 97'' Pontiac Grand Prix - Brandon, Manitoba Classifieds

Looks like an SE to me.

So, unless you want to go slower, the engine is worthless to you, haha.

You have to remember the 97-00 SEs had the 3800 as an option. But some of the 97s came with the 4T60E not the 4T65E.

I would be using the drivetrain as a rebuild base anyway. If it isn't the 3.8, then I guess it would only be good for body / interior parts and parting out. Apparently the tranny has "problems" anyway. Or a possible fix-er-up-er for my son??
