Otto is a what?
Yes nearly any 98-02 will work great. Although tell me what Otto is again. And check that FL thread. Someone replied
Yup.. you'd be good.
Sooo what's the update. You gonna get cranking on Otto and have the OR prepped for Sunday then have that other guy give you a hand?
Well.. the upside is Otto will run again. Let's not concentrate on the fact that you didn't get super dirty, make a huge mess and have all kinds of scrapes and cuts on your hands. it's ok.. some other day. Meanwhile..Otto is getting fixed!
Hello everybody,
First thing's first, I would like to say thank you for all Interest and support about Otto's recovery!
Furthermore, i would just like to give you guys an update on his recovery. He was dropped off at the shop last week saturday. The shop I dropped of the car at had a rebuilt tranny but they found out it was a 4t60e so they didnt want to use it. I opted for the rebuild route. They had the transmission out by wednesday slowly working on it. Shipped it to a rebuilder same wednesday (they dont rebuild in house). I checked in this past saturday, and they informed me that most components of first gear had shattered and in the process the torque converter got screwed. Some pics are included below. The final negotiated price is 1400 including a 2500 stall converter. They said the new converter and trans should be shipped back in tomorrow (tuesday) and put all back together by end of wednesday. Once again thank you for the support y'all =D! Ill stay in touch and see what goes down on wednesday.
Sincerely,
Denis

Poor Otto's headers are showing!
Sounds pretty awesome, bet you are jazzed to hear it'll be back soon.
Most definitely sir! Im so bored of the hyundai. Its very bland and unexciting unlike Otto. I want the power of otto back. Didn't realize how quick he is compared to your everyday family sedan!
On a side not, I figure the transmission is the stomach because it takes the engines powers and digests it to the wheels.... So he is undergoing stomach surgery!
lolz... something i left out without realizing it, Otto had tranny work at 90k miles... So my guess is that who ever did it didnt put it back together right and it was slowly messing up over time. But my launches here and there dont help. Im a kid, and i learn from my mistakes.
Ahhhh see, admiting to it is most of the battle. These cars have the ability to kill transmissions pretty easily. There's a localish guy to me... he's literally on his 8th or 9th trans. He beats them until they die.
Me.. I ripped, abused and caused lots of carnage in my transmissions.
OH THANK GOOD! That is reassuring to know! thank you for sharing that valuable piece of info! Its sooooo reassuring that I am not alone with this Whole "**** gm trans". Its good to know that even a hardcore owner like yourself has managed to "abused and caused lots of carnage in my transmissions.' =D!
I always liked to say:
Transmission = fuse between motor and rear end.
Or with front wheel drive fuse between motor and tires.
