Keyless entry module

Well I'm working on it for over a month trying to figure out why,the key fob doesn't work.
Since I bought the car it was like that, I bough a new remote changed battery. I did the programming and nothing worked.

Since I gave up on trying to fix this ****
now I wanna pull the receiver out and put a new one.
Google didn't find me where it's located exactly and what need to be done.

I was hoping you guys know.

It's located right under the get a coolant flush cap.

Not positive on the GP. Regal it's to the right of the cluster behind the dash.
