I'm not exactly sure where to post this since my problems are engine or suspension specific. I have a 2005 GT with 75.5k miles. I just had 4 brand new michelin's tire installed with alignment, balance, and rotations done about 3k miles ago. The works... Anyway, prior to my car getting new tires, I started to notice, approximately @ 63k miles, a vibration coming from the right side of my car. It first occurred when my dad and I were on the interstate. I started to feel it when I would accelerate at any speed above 65 mph. At the time it would only give me this vibration in the steering wheel and gas pedal when I had a passenger in the car. NOW it's worsened and I had T.O. Haas (the company who ended up mounting and aligning my new tires) to check out my front axles and and joints. They came back and said they were decent and they should hold up until at least spring. Well, it has only been 6 weeks since I was T.O. Haas and the vibration is getting unbearable. I don't know where to start without forking out a butt load of money, which is not what I want to do. I don't feel any vibrations coming from the rear. Everything seems to come front the front when I accelerate. I can start to feel it and lower speeds around 40 mph. now. I had my tranny flushed under 20k miles ago so I don't think it's my transmission which is why I believe it has to deal with my drivetrain. New brake pads and rotors were all installed about 15k miles ago. Like I said the vibrations only come when power is given. It will vibrate on cruise as the computer adjusts the speed and it occurs when I accelerate the car manually.

I'd appreciate any tips, ideas, or suggestions to help improve my situation. I'm not the biggest car guru but I like to tinker around. I'm all for DIY if I can fix it myself but if a car lift or new drivetrain is needed then so be it I'll take it in.

    Thanks!

Sounds like a cv axle to me. They really don't cost too much if you buy them from rock auto and do the install yourself

If it makes a difference to the outcome of what to fix, I jacked up my car yesterday and grabbed each front tire at the 3 & 9 o'clock positions and was able to shake the wheel back and forth. I attempted it at the 12 & 6 o'clock positions and the wheels were solid as a rock. Hope this information helps!

UPDATE - So I had my car's axles and joints checked and it's all fine and dandy. Therefore I'm ruling my previous ideas out. I was thinking perhaps it was in my engine. So I Seafoamed my engine and replaced my thermostat (it needed to be replaced) and no improvement. So I had a friend drive it so he can experience what I was feeling and he's thinking it's the transmission. I had it flushed about around 20k miles ago, mind you I never had this problem before the flush. We are thinking the transmission flush screwed it up because they put too much tranny fluid in (dip stick shows it's past max level when warmed up).

Is it possible to have to my tranny damaged by having too much fluid? Would it cause the shaking feeling I feel when I accelerate in 3rd and 4th gears or when my car tries to maintain set cruising speed? If I lower the fluid to the recommended levels could it fix the issue or am I just screwed and need to replace something in my tranny?

If your vibration is under acceleration and goes away when off acceleration at the same speed you need axles... There is no way to tell by looking at them unless boot is torn a slinging grease that they are bad when there is a vibration under acceleration

would you call it more of a shuttering feeling, or can you feel it slipping? or will it slip if you nail it off the line or shake and shudder?

if this is the case^^^ id either break the pan free on a corner and dump out the extra fluid plus 1 more, or suck it out the dip stick. then drop a quart of lucas trans medix. warm it up, top it off with new fluid. then pray for the best.

its also possible the filter is clogged up if it was not changed when it was flushed. most places dont change it when they flush it. if thats the case you may want to drop the pan change the filter, get 7 quarts of new fluid and a 1 quart of the lucas stuff.

@scottydoggs I would consider it a shuddering feel. I haven't noticed any slip to my knowledge.

@Rob97gtp "If your vibration is under acceleration and goes away when off acceleration at the same speed you need axles..." - this is exactly how the vibration is felt. Only under acceleration to maintain set cruise speed or to accelerate in general. It's getting to the point where I do not dare to take it past 65 mph. "There is no way to tell by looking at them unless boot is torn a slinging grease that they are bad when there is a vibration under acceleration" The boots are still in good shape. No oil slinging or dripping.

Cv joint could still be bad and the boot be fine.
