I believe alot of the LED tail lights for the 04+ guys do this, its hit and miss. Mine does it on the same side, I believe I remember recalling that the metal bolts are bent up, just what happens when you manufacture copy after copy in China with no quality control

As for messing up electronics, no. That is why the sockets all have rubber gaskets, believe it or not water ran all over the back of your stocker and it was fine, these are no different (you missed the gapping hole at the top just behind the tail light that is by the trunk shock area that lets water drain out ). In fact I broke the little socket off, not realizing it it had filled half way with water, it still worked. I ended up draining it out, drying it and resealing the socket. Its fine now; Worse comes to worse, it pops a fuse or you lose a tail light in extreme circumstances, there is a small waranty on these things IIRC. Even then, I bought mine for $250, they are now $150, I'd just buy another set at that price.

Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

I also have aftermarket lights and they don't fit perfectly either. There is always a gap, aftermarket will not have a perfect fit (I think) My light still work with no problems and they have been in my car for 6 months or so and yes, we got some heavy rain over here

The load box that houses the resistors is probably hitting the metal part of the body. I noticed this on my brothers LED tails for his 03. You can either enlarge the openings for the bolts to align the light or return it and try your luck with another set.
