I'm under the impression that less backpressure is better. Please explain why smaller primaries is more helpful. Clearly, 1.75" seems to be fairly agreed-upon by our current vendors, but I don't understand why you wouldn't want bigger primaries if you can manage to fit them.
Velocity.
Went from Pacesetters to SD's, boost went down, thus flow increased.
Smaller primaries FTW.
Smaller primaries are only better because the factory ports are junk.
Open the ports.
Outflow SD's and create an obstruction in the exhaust flow. Stock valvetrain also blows. Upgrade that. INcrease flow.
Thus, Pacesetter's and TOG X's come into play.
Regardless, flow will still be slightly better up top with the larger primaries IMO.
I have no evidence. Just, I told you so.
Professor Bio, sprinkle us with wisdom from your mighty brain!
Update: really tossing the idea now n probably pitting it in motion.. Anyone else interested??
These cars have a positive displacement blower. Exhaust velocity means little to nothing at WOT.
The reason exhaust primaries are not huge is because we need to keep the O2 sensors happy....and obviously space restrictions.
Depends on price and quality, if decent I'd be down
