    Has anyone thought of making a Mold? I'm thinking about it, might take some extra money but hey, It would be made back in almost no time

    cant do it gm has patents on them 3 people have done it before and all ended with gm winning a lawsuit against them all
    dhp tune, sd lip, shiny stuffs, retros, gen 2 spoiler, gpo's, pregens

    yea thought about it plenty of times. just need to find a way to make the mold, its not as easy as you think because you want the roof rails to fit perfect

    you can always change it up a bit just change the shape a bit on them and use different materiel

    use a different color plastic or something there is ways around it im sure
    dhp tune, sd lip, shiny stuffs, retros, gen 2 spoiler, gpo's, pregens

    "If" i build one, i sure as hell wouldnt tell anyone. Id just start selling them. Wonder if my 15+ yrs in plastic injection molding would help?....

    You have to be careful with making a mold, GM has a copyright on these things and can easily sue you. Main reason why the guy who made the new batch of GPO's didn't do roof rails.

    Hardest part about the whole thing is getting donor/test pieces to base the mold off of, and finding the right material or resin to make it work correctly. Since i dont have a set, those are plastic, right. Wonder if you could make them out of fiberglass instead. Seems like a fiberglass forms would be way easier to make.

    Oh, like i said i dont have a set but what ive seen it doesnt look like much.....def not worth what ppl ask for them, hard to come by or not....its a silly trim piece!! Lol

    its around $175 just for the one side

    Injection molds are stupid expensive. You'd never make your money back.
