    okay so i have a 2001 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8.
    I have gotina 3800 pcm tune, a set of pace setter header and a 3 inch exahst with a magna flow high flow cat. no resinator.
    I also have a cold air intake and a alternator booster and tb spacer, these two things i dont know if they did anyhting or not. and i also have msd coils. out of all these how much hp shouldi have gained? and what are the benifits?

    maybe 10-15?

    Too hard to say really.

    On a side note, I'd go back to stock coils, those MSD's are a pointless mod and will give you problems someday.

    alt booster and tb spacer are also pointless mods. You should cam it now
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.
    04 Comp G zzp stb's, UMI ta's, Speedbuilt sways, bully flo heads, XP, zzp headers, fsic, thrasher shift kit, 60#, 2.6" corsa 2.5", Inferno hood
    01 gt z7 turbo tep trans zzp motor
    08 g8 gt cam exhaust 11.87@118

    cam would be awsome, would i need to get new top end and bottum end parts for the engine and a retune? also what could the msd coils do in the future? i really thought theyd give a better spark

    MSD coils are known to be junk.

    But you'd know that if you searched around and see what others have done.

    i have never heard anything good about them for grand prixs atleast ive seen on tons of muscle cars though
    dhp tune, sd lip, shiny stuffs, retros, gen 2 spoiler, gpo's, pregens

    in a way its strange but theyre two completely different typs of cars i guess. maybe it just gives out to much voltage then needed?

    Righto.

    Long story short, they degrade quite quickly, and cause high rpm failures.

    Quality product? Don't think so.

    As for reason behind failure, no one has looked into it.

    Though dwell tends to ruin coils pretty quickly.

    ha well you learn somethinge everyday, i have new stock soil packs ready to go on it anyway, ill just resell my msds on ebay.
