By the way, I have read the "must read post"
I am doing this for a lady work associate to help her get her 04 supercharged gtp back on the road
I will not bore you with the details but,
I can't find a search for "motor replacement (it has a terrible knock) , or what other engines will work for a replacement , or short block replacements for the 04 platform
and a thread with all the information I will need to help her out
    I thank you for reading
any and all help is appreciated, I do not want to rehash what has already been done.
    I am a 1965 Corvair mid engine V8 guy, and a kellisoncars.com guy

She is worthy of helping as she has 5 kids and her car was her passion

    thanks

I'm sure Bill will chime in and list a few cars that the 3.8 was available in.

You need to find a L67 or L32 motor.

If you find a L67 you will just have to swap around maybe a few brackets being that its a series 2 motor and the L32 is the series 3.

Another thing if you use the L67, you will just have to swap the top end of the motor over to it, LIM, SC, fuel rails, etc etc etc.

But if you can find a cheap L32, just drop it in.

Many of the parts on the toasted motor can still be parted off and sold for some good cash back.
