Have 2001 se 3.1.lately its been running pretty warm driving slow.Never has before.Last few weeks it has and iam trying to figure whats up.Checked hose`s,radiators full, can`t see any leaks and when i put the heater on full, the gauge does not move very much. After it gets real hot,all of a sudden it drops real fast.Maybe the fans are on?
any help would be appreciated. thanks

You are low on coolant. Check the level.

Then ask when the last LIM gaskets were done on it. Likely you are burning it. 3.1's are known for LIM gasket issues.

Coming out of the top of the water pump is a metal tube that turns 90* and goes toward the driver side. On top of it is a brass screw. With the radiator topped off and engine running, open it to bleed air out. That's why it's there.
