I was into the coupe GTP's for a while then I remembered when the 04+ GP came out and thought it looked sexy like hell . I test drove one and was in love . I ended buying a 05 GTP CompG off the showroom floor at carmax with 35k miles and in immaculate condition ive own it for 3 years now and has 75k miles and still enjoy driving it every day.
It was a Cumfy cruiser lol
GP.... Bonneville and Regal.
A buddy told me how comfy and good fuel mileage the Bonnies could be. Then I got the SSEi and oh yeaaaaah
Gtp?
every time I saw a grand prix (96+) i always wanted one. A guy was going to sell me a red 99 GTP Coupe for $800 but it needed tons of rust work and didnt even have an exhaust on it. Then I found the one i have now.. a 98 purple GT Coupe. and basically just fell in love x)
My dad had a nice green 01 se that he had for about 10 years. I remember when I was 8 years old going to get it and I didnt know what a gp looked like only sunfires so I was expecting that so when we got the car I thought damn this thing looks awesome. I loved how the body lines looked and how it was just clawing at the road. 10 years later I got my license in that car but always wanted a GT or GTP. Now I have one.
When i was 15 I took a trip alllll the way from illinois to texas in a gtp. Since the population was low and no one was around me and my buddy were able to take his uncles gtp around the block. I thought it was super smooth. Loved it. Got a 86 silverado as my first vehicle lol after a year I decided to rebuild it cuz the frame was rusted out. So I did. Classic chevy engine so I did a cam and what not. Bought a jeep as a temp car for 200 bucks cuz it had 2 bent pushrods. Then I had a kid and needed to save money so I sold the jeep and bought a 96 grand am SE. Nice car but I fricken HATED that when ppl sat behind me I basically had to scoot my seat as far foward as I could for the passenger to be comfortable. So I'm thinking this sucks. I need a sedan that has a little more balls to it and much more roomy. That's when I remembered the gp would be perfect. But if I was gonna get something newer it had to be nice. So I got the 02 gtp. Only thing it doesn't have is heated seats but idc.
I had a 94 SSEi Bonne, with the Series I SC 3800. Comfy car, but I wanted more power, easier modding, and newer. Got the 99 GTP when it came in as a trade in at the dealership, went to the owner and told him I wanted it. Drove it home that day
I knew about the GTPs from a Bonnie forum and really liked them, being early 20s it just screamed at me. My next jump would be a GTO or a 02 TA, I miss RWD and 6spd gear box. But the GTP is paid for and modding is about to commence, so dreams will have to wait, I got to make it FASTA!
I had a 1990 Buick LeSabre given to me as my first car, then later bought my Dad's 1991 Olds Eight-Eight, both had the series 1 3800, owned them for a combined 10+ years with very little mechanical problems. So when it was time to retire the 88 and get something new in 2008 the only thing I liked the looks of with a 3800 engine was the GP. In hindsight I think I should of ignored the reliability of the 3800 engine and got a turbo Cobalt and hoped for the best.
I had heard the same thing from all the girls who I knew uhhh closely "oh Bill wider is better" then the 97 Pontiac marketing with the whole wider is better thing and it was automotive destiny.
Or like Blue said, it could have been booze
Cause, Racekarr!!!! J/K It's sort of like a family mans hot rod. The wife likes it and I can mod it.
