SUPERCHARGED GTP GRAND PRIX GRANDPRIX 1997 MUST SEE !!

My friend is considering getting this Grand Prix. I know that there are certain things that couldnt be done with the 97 or 03 with interchanging with the 98-02. Is this the only downside to the 97? Also looking for any other things you have noticed thats good or bad with them.

    Thanks!

97's suck. If you buy one, pay scrap value and not a dime more.

    98-00 are best.

what makes the 97 worse than a 98? My 97 4-door out performs my rotten 98 two door any day of the week.

    The GTP looks sharp..especially in red...I have a white 97 4 door and a green 98 2 door.

97 have year specific quirks and first year glitches that make them annoying for anything other than stock driving.

$3,000.00 Worth of BRAND NEW PARTS on this car in the last 3 months. Makes me wonder whats majorly wrong with it to dump "3,000.00" into it prior to selling it for $3900. Jus sayin.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

I have a 97. I have only had one issue that is different compared to my 98 and my 01. The Magnasteer. Other than that it has been pretty mch the same.

I was wondering the same thing! haha. Unless he went around and fixed every little ticky tacky thing he neglected in the past or counted putting fluids in. lol. I thought it was steep but seems my friend had been talking to the guy and he thinks the guy just has it overpriced to start with but will come down.

I think it's worth checking out. After having a ton of problems with a car, you eventually give up. After another 3 grand, that car is probably golden, just take that ugly **** off the hood.

Dont think he is going to modify it a ton. Itll remain mostly stock.

You wouldnt by it because of price and not having modding potential right?

Its still worth a look right?

On KBB, in excellent condition,(which no car is in excellent condition unless its on the showroom) its at $3890. But usually people dont neglect their car and then drop 3k on neglected parts just to sell it. I think there's a deeper issue that the owner found.

biggest gripe i've heard about 97's is the vacuum controlled transmission
99 GT - top swapped, S2X cam. - sadly, sold
    96 Firebird Formula - T-tops and exhaust leak. 14.26 @ 97.8 - sold
2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS - stock, in all of it's turbocharged awesomeness
