Found out that I have a busted motor mount There goes the money for anything else I wanted to do to it for a while!
Finally after 2 days of doing the LIM gasket.....Nothing, I get to sit on my arse.
2 days? you start at night?
that will slow ya down a bit. hope your not to sore.
i just did mine, and i have to say i thought about putting it on ramps before i started, but blew it off, being 6'6" my back and legs were pretty damn sore for a few days afterwards. lots of leaning over and my hips are way higher then the fenders.
I usually just stick my jack under the car so i can move it up and down depending on which part i'm working on.
HAHA, my little floor jack will not fit under my car so I had to grab a scissor jack to get it high enough to slide the floor jack under and lift it up to drop the oil and then flush some cheap oil through the motor. Amazingly though I looked at the flushed oil and there was NOT one drop of dex cool floating on top. Guess I got lucky when I pulled the LIM off and no fluid made it into the pan.
I have a low profile racing jack so i have no problems getting it under the car. The coolant usually settles to the bottom not the top.
i took my lower hose off the engine, and the dog bones, and rocked the engine back and fourth a bunch of times, till coolant stopped coming out the timing cover, then took the lim off nice and level like, not a drop spilled, and i didn't change my oil, its only 500 miles old and still looks golden.
Might wanna do another oil change in a few weeks just to make sure you got it all.
I let the car drain over night after I pulled the lower and upper hose. I also lifted the LIM off nice and level. This is my first 3.8 LIM, but I have done many SB chevys and SB fords.
Changed my oil cleaned my air cleaner and swapped throttle bodies. Gonna try and get a wash and wax in if my air filter dries.
A girl sent me this pic and asked if i can make a decal for her
Haha that's off the ap csr racing its very addict ing
