I have been looking around a 200mi radius around me. I found a GTP for $2200, but it is too much. It has 165k. I really don't want to go any higher then $1500

Show up with 1500 in hand. Walk around the car, look at body lines etc etc, and you can work that down so hard. Let him see the money, then put it in your pocket, and boom.

Are you good with mechanic work?

Could buy one with a bad LIM (which they think is a bad HG), for next to nothing and have it fixed same day.

i'm ok. I have never replaced the intake gaskets, but it doesn't seem too hard, plus there are people in here that will help if I need it. I'm not quite sure if i have all of the tools to do the Lim though.

I don't have a torque wrench or a quick disconnect tool. Guy wants $2000 for it. It is almost 3 hours away. Not too sure if I want to drive that far for the guy to tell me no.

torque wrench you can rent for free, its just a deposit. fuel line tool is 10 bucks, not sure if you really need it, tho, i think you can just pop the rail and sling it to the side. id rather just take it off.

that is why I was thinking $1500. He said he replaced a pulley? He hasn't answered me back about what one.

A Torque wrench is a good tool to have, don't rent one, just buy one. You don't need to spend a lot and buy a fancy brand, a craftsman(probably even a harbor freight) will do fine.Fuel quick disconnect tool is cheap, $3-10 maybe. You don't even need it necessarily, I disconnected mine with a pair of screwdrivers when I had an o-ring go bad while I was out of town.
