Haha. I did go out and pick them up before I left so he can mow. There were more than I thought and some big ones too. Filled my bucket up twice. We really need a wheelbarrow...

was going to do plugs on dads mountaineer but the first boot i pulled off broke so i just shoved it back on lol He'll be buying plug wires soon
Oil change on the 68 mustang, cleaned the cap and rotor, seems to run a bit smoother. The plugs are pretty fouled though, and wires are old. May do plugs and wires. Also found out that 2 of the wires on the F-250 were crossed, swapped them and it runs soo much better. I put it in drive and gave it some gas, it took off so I guess that's problem solved lol. Then the alternator belt snapped, so I guess I need a new one of those, well all of them are old and worn out. Still don't know what motor it is but I think it's a 351
I made my FMHE a little more obscure.
so put a few couple hundred miles on it this weekend. damn wedding. so in regards to my P0171 code... could a dipstick that isn't all the way in and sealed cause the code to be sent?
it shouldn't. if it blew up on its own thats another issue all its own tho.
oh ****..... well any thoughts ideas for the cure?
most of the time its a vac leak. not sure on them v8's tho.
Gonna go check the hoses and clean the MAF
Sticker time.....
*UPDATE* Took off the MAF... blew air across it.. cleaned air filter which was just about a year old...looked good except it got pushed back into the box some how.. not a good seal which could have been the problem. Took a gas rag and cleaned the throttle plate... it was super bad.. next time i change oil.. i'll have to clean it even more.. but it's 400x better than it was now. I erased the code.. and then took it for a drive.. no light came on. did 2 start ups on the drive and still no light. so that is good. Maybe it's cured. But now.. it seems like the car idles at a higher RPM.. its at like 1100 or 1000 instead of dropping down to 800 or 700 where it was. could this be cause the throttle plate is cleaner or it has some gas on it or anything like that? Thoughts?
On DBW cars you really arent suppose to open the throttle plate by hand with it still plugged into the car and battery hooked up.
A throttle relearn can be done with a scanner. It's more of a problem with GEN 4 v8 motors in trucks, done 1 or 2 at work and bumped the blade open and they race the rpm at 3500 sometimes in park, do the relearn and it's fine.
How do you do a relearn? Just disconnect batt. for a while?
Is it even lowered?
Rinseless washed my car and gave it a wipedown with Meguiar's M135.
Helped my brother install his freshly repainted SD air dam. It snapped on the corner when he pulled up to far on a concrete block at the parking lot. He repaired it and had it professionally painted. Installed his stock grilles due to his FIG grilles chipping. Also installed LED's into his gauge cluster since he liked how mine looked.
Washed it
Washed the mower Friday... car looked jealous..lol
