Took off the super tires. The backs were a little close to the wear bars. Tossed on the intermediates.. not winters, not aggressive summers.
Cussed and spit because its raining and its the day I came back from a 4 day vacation and this morning she decides to spit up a coolant elbow and threw up all the coolant... right as I got to work. So I get to refill with coolant, limp home without overheating (short drive thank god) and then proceed to do work I would have enjoyed doing yesterday.
Grrr.... trollface car
See...now if you put in aluminums with a ton of RTV, it would likely be much worse...
Inspected the Comp G and the rust that started on the back right wheel well earlier this year is expanding rapidly...starting to think maybe I should just get rid of the damn thing, and maybe get a beater 2000+ SSEi.
they are about 20 minutes from me. i went and had him make a rendering for me once. Im still considering getting it
^^ thats tight.
Yea, that's why I'm only spending a couple bux on the plastic ones we keep at the shop (yay employee discount) and some coolant. Just ticks me off the time it happens. It will probably only take me an hour because I'm using hand tools and lazy/slow, and I can flush the coolant while I'm replacing it, so bonus there, but the time it happens just Grrrr. It could have happened Friday night when I was just running around town, limped it home, worked on it over the weekend, no problem.
Now I have to wait til I get off, limp it home, wait for it to cool down (longest part), then work on it at night lol.
Fixed clay's lim mess and tinted his tails and clean his exhaust tips.
Went over to Shane's house, hung out and did a plug change on the Gold Bish. Her old AL 606's had even burn wear on all 6, which makes me happy. Then looked at his GTP for some things to work on. It was a good afternoon.
Ha I only stripped them back to cleanish wiring. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the rear hubs was bad on the thing or if this other broken wire hanging under the car could be causing the problem. I may fix the wiring but idk I'm lazy and frankly as long as the car runs ok she doesn't care.
On another note I found a guy parting out a silver impala like hers that I talked with and said he would sell me three of the doors off of it for $130 pulled off the car and ready to go (local jy charges $60 per door not including windows, door panels, and extra junk). Reason I need them is because the front passenger door is currently ghetto rigged shut with some cable and ingenuity, the front driver door has the top of it all pulled back and wont seal properly because some jackhole friend of hers broke in her car to get her keys for her, and both back doors have the handles broke off and I dont I feel like spending a bunch of time replacing them.
Every time I cold start my car, it takes longer, and longer cranking times to start it. If I start it after sitting for even up to 4 hours, it starts up quick. But overnight, it takes a while. This just started happening too. It used to be quick every time. TB is clean. I'm not sure about the iac valve, I wasn't sure how to clean it, but I shot TB cleaner in it. This morning I cycled the key 3 times first to see if fuel pressure wasn't sufficient, but that made no difference.
IAC shouldn't affect start up. It should only hold idle once it is started. If idle was bouncy, high, or low, then I would look at IAC as a fault, but not for this case.
Yeah I'm at a loss. Tuneup items were done at 104k. There is an aftermarket maf on it from the previous owner, but cranking time is the only issue I'm having. I'll search through the dozens of related posts if I can find them. I suppose the FPR could be at fault, cycling the key may not eliminate all fuel problems. Just the pump and it's ability to create pressure.
Finally bought HP tuner suite, after lots of procrastinating.500 bucks,POOF!Gone.
