removed the radio out of my 2005 GP. Either to replace the burned out bulbs in the LCD or get a decent aftermarket player that can use USB or SD card to play MP3.
Aftermarket ftw
Installed the new(old) headlight and performed a rough alignment, won't know until tonight if they still need to be adjusted but I got it close
RALM
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II
Just finished installing a passenger wheel hub, and a passenger CV axle.
Vibrations are totally gone.
Now I think I need to install engine spacers so I at least slow my killing of CV axles.
the end link bracket broke off the lca there?
must be from the " hey, what ya think of my stopping power?" brake checks lol
Went on another road trip last weekend.. Low oil light came on before i left.... i put almost a full quart in.... then today... the low light came on again.. .like serious.... eats a quart of oil in 700 miles...? DoD **** you! Also... got a "cylinder 1 misfire" when i was out camping the weekend too. that was fun...... wanting to get rid of this thing before it falls apart.. will probably hit 100K by the end of the month.. starting to look at trucks......
the ***** probably should get some new plugs in it too..
I totaled my 2006 GP (84k) three weeks ago, picked up a new (to me) GP yesterday (42k). Both are base. Old had preferred/sports packages, new has the same plus extra GT features (GM paperwork says it is a GT, but it lacks the 17" rims so I am not sure) (has dual climate control, power moonroof, heated leather seats, Monsoon sound, etc. which I have never found on a base model having looked at many the past few weeks).
Today, for my car, I did the following:
* Talked to someone on Craigslist to acquire newish rims. Current ones are the premium 16s (i.e. not steel plus hubcaps), but the coating is bubbling and flaking. Still has factory rims/tires.
* Filled tires correctly. Buick dealer that sold it to me had 20 PSI in front left, 52 in right rear. Turned on my big boy compressor and ensured all were 35 PSI (tires/jamb say 44 but that's too much).
* Inspected all body panels. Will call local premium body shop for A+ buffing and painting, to include removing dealer decal from the rear. I am not a billboard on wheels. I paid my commission to the dealer, move on with life. Anway, this body shop deals in super-premium paint jobs. Take your classic Corvette there and get it done right. Take your nice ride for a few extra bucks and they treat you right. I may spray paint my Ranger when it gets a scratch but my Grand Prix is an endangered species, she needs the premium treatment.
* Ordered a tire tread depth gauge. This may have contributed to my previous GP hydroplaning and wrecking. Since these are no longer manufactured, I am committed to this not occurring again if I can help it.
Let the wife drive it for the first time to Walmart....needless to say, I drove it back....
He's right
