Actually its on the list of the greatest idea considering. It sucks for performance, that I will give you. But the idea was for a more linear application of air-fuel mix based on throttle to improve gas mileage across all car platforms. Even if you floor it the computer will slowly open the throttle to allow for a smooth pull and makes it easier on your cars parts and less important to have traction control. It will still pull as hard as it can while staying efficient and not breaking the tires loose.
Now if you DO get it tuned properly and remove the majority of the torque management functions it will allow for snappy throttle response and give you most of that old power feel, but it's still not fun for a performance car.
