drove it like i stole it.
Drove it to school. Drove it to a friends to reside a garage. Drove it home.
Yesterday I watched it sit outside in a storm. A little part of me wished it wouldve gotten hail damage and totalled. About 10 miles west of us they had baseball size hail. Damnit...
parked it outside and washed it with rain lol
painted my valve covers while im waiting for parts which should be here tuesday
Picked up a fine girl and sat in it with her lol.
Cleaned up the wiring harness. Went for a drive with my newish stereo turned up louder than it should be.
flogged the sh!t out of the firebird and suddenly remembered why i bought it. chirps second, gets compliments out of all my crew members, makes my dad jealous, and handles like it's on rails. F-body ftw
Changed it's oil and topped off fluids.
tinted my back door windows with 20%.
i couldn't find a big enough sheet to do the rear window, im thinking that ill have to buy some from a shop, or do in 2 pieces. i have a roll of 35% for the fronts, so when i feel up to it ill get them done as well.
just for the record framed windows suck to tint. i took the door panels off and the inside window rubber, or else you'll never get the tint down low on the glass. its not a perfect job but it looks ok.
cars filthy dirty with dirt and soapy water running all over it, car wash to come soon too.
well deserved, but not overdue, oil change.
i dreamed about having it back again.. wednesday hopefully!
I cursed at it looking at the ABS and TCS lights.
currently changing the power steering pump, what a pita
Well em cars still on jack stands in the drive thru..haven't drivin it in a few months waiting on starter to come in and hopefully ill be back on road.
washed and waxed the prix inside and out, pics later
I changed the steering rack, took me about 4 hrs, but that was only because i had to re-route the lines, as the company sent me the wrong rack.
i have the non-variable steering rack, luckily the plug for the variable was laying right on top of the transmission. onto the pix:
Pull the tie-rods to make it easier and only worry about pulling the rack at once and not the whole thing:
NON variable rack on top and variable on the bottom:
and of course the lines are routed different, NON variable on the left and variable on the right:
it wasnt that bad, after all.
i tried to adjust the toe the best i could to drive home, and to today i got the alignment done.
Yup the ***** of it is I just had the wheel bearings done like 2 months ago. I'm banking on just a crimped wire
