Changed the oil in all three cars today, as there was nothing to do in the office. Couldn't find my oil filter wrench, which meant I got to punch holes in all three filters with a screwdriver and hammer in order to pull them off. Then did some WOT pulls in the GTP. A vast departure from the Buick I've been driving all week.
^^^ it's still slow
I changed the oil in the work truck today and about died when I spent $50 for 5 quarts of oil and a napa filter. 5 quarts went in and only 3 came out.. Poor truck. It has 278k on it now.
Then my car yelled at me to tell me to change the oil. Fuel pump rewire, rear brakes, and an oil change are on the list for next week.
Holy cow... did I do some work ..... well for the Regal this was huge.
Replaced the power steering pump. (Tip, pop the tie rod end out of the knuckle)
While filling the pump and waiting for the air to work it's way out.....
Replaced the rear knock sensor pigtail ... fugging barely touched it and broke it while doing pump (no it wasn't hooked to the back still.)
Admired the missing diff to engine bracket bolt (there's 3 others and this is my car..lol)
Pulled the oil pan drain plug
Swapped the front dog bone mounts with stockers that a friend gave me (remove some vibration)
Fired the car up for a min and turned the wheel again to release more air
Crawled under car and put drain plug back in oil pan, pulled filter and swapped that.
Put tire back on
Yes you read that properly, why are you even questioning it....
Sprayed the engine and underneath with degreaser while it was still on jack stands
Thought, maybe I should have put the oil cap back on before spraying the valve cover... oh well
Filled with oil, dropped it down and backed it out
Hosed it off.. alt really didn't like being sprayed directly when I misjudged
Couldn't find brake cleaner to wipe down tools. Eff it.. left it all in the middle of the garage. I'll clean it up today....
And not once did I whine or cry like a sallllllly (hint hint)
Sure.. you looking for a set of poly dog bones to go with them? Danomite has a set he's looking to unload. We were chatting about putting them together as a set to sell
Cool.. you'll pick them up, no shipping is always good. Although, it's a long drive.
PM me an offer on both shipped (cause I know you didn't mean you were stopping over to pick up)
that looks f ing great.
Painted my dash peice silver along with my center console piece. Looks great. And painted the lower part of my front bumper black again since it had a bunch of chips
Finally made a clip of the whine the GXP makes this morning. http://instagram.com/p/sfxFValZwA/?modal=true
It sounds like it's coming from the left side of the engine somewhere, but I'm not sure what from. It came right after one of the many times half of my transmission fluid leaked out of my old, bad lines. However, I've been able to drive it the past few thousand miles with it.
The car also started having another problem a couple weeks ago. At first, whenever I accelerated quickly the traction, stability, ABS lights would come on, but has since got more touchy, and does it whenever I move.
sounds like a bad trans pump if your sure its form the driver side of the engine. take the belt off, see if its still there, if it is, its the trans pump.
