Go big or go home!
Nah he enjoys his trannies
After work today as we walked to the parking lot to split for a 3 day weekend, a co worker asks:
"You ever been whooped by a Saab?"
Can't say I have.
"Wanna?"
You can try!
He did... fail 3 times fair and square. No match for the junky GTP. Got home and researched it, hell he may have ten more HP stock! I dunno. Like a 06 or so 9-3. T'was fun.
Think I spotted a radiator leak last night on mine, haven't had a good look yet. Will do.
Drove it to work. Today was my first day of driving a lot on the pregens....riddle me this.... I can turn sharp both directions going forward and not rub. I can turn the rear sharp to the right in reverse and not rub, but when I turn the rear sharp to the left in reverse, it rubs. I haven't had someone look while I do it so idk where its hung up at. I just thought it was weird that it only does it on one turning activity. Hmmm.
I washed it so its all Shiny again.
Here is all the sand I blasted off the rockers.
A new way to sand-blast, eh? Damn that looks good Kyle but you gotta get on them front bumper spots. They look worse that the last pic, fadin fast.
D- that could be control arm bushing wear. OR- just normal side-to-side variation in production vehicles. Rubs on the splash shield or what?
My 69 GP one day had me wondering why the tire rubbed when I back out of my driveway. So I looked underneath and the rear lower front control arm mount bracket had yanked a hunk out of the frame. Turns out thats common for 64-72 A-body variants. Welds have been holding a decade or more on that now thank goodness.
Yeah the whole bumper is fading bad, i want to pull it sand a repaint the spots that are just plastic and then buff the crap outs the whole thing.
Does your gas door close right? Looks funky in pic.
No it doesnt lol
U know how to adjust? Man up and bend just the bracket with your hands. Like the backside of the lid and / or the lever part. Don't let the structure touch the skin or you'll have an outie in the lid. Not like you gotta go fix that now, I'm just sayin thats how. Done it a bunch on wrecks. If you have both rubber fuel door bumpers, your car is minty fresh.
I will try that tomorrow, in my dads car it rusted and the door just opened around corners was great
A can of paint and 5 min I vote lime green
I say don't paint the trans case. Paint peels, just clean it with wax n grease remover and a parts cleaning brush and wipe dry thoroughly. I think it will look less tacky later. I have a chipped faded red oxide (done by rebuilder) trans in my GT and I think it looks like orangutan ass.
One for the win column- yesterday I parked at an extreme odd angle for about an hour and had a 6" puddle of coolant under a wet spot on the core support. The win is- it must have been from last weekend's temp sensor swap and trapped in the structure somewhere. Glad I parked weird and let it drain out. Double glad my radiator is bone dry on the outside. So she gets a wash job. Primo weather for it this evening so on with the OFF and off I go ...
Yea I seriously wouldn't paint it I would just clean it up. Painted parts look like ass once it starts to peel or chemicals get all over it.
someday im painting everything under the hood white lol.
