HOLLY SH IT! those look almost new. i was not expecting them to POP like that at all.
watch the managers tell everyone to start cleaning their trucks now.

Nice job on the wheels. At minimum put a coat of wax no them to make it easier on yourself.
So I busted my ass the last 3 days cleaning, parts pulling, and all that to change my subframe, TCC PWM, PCS, 4th Hub, and the 4th stack...for nothing. The damned TCC STILL oscillates. I'm going to see if I can't find someone to reset the TAPS for me, but I don't have high hopes. I don't know what to do anymore...
maybe the harness inside the tranny is bad.
On TEPs website and from what iv heard is the MAF can cause issues like that. Unless you tried that

I have tried the MAF before, but it's been a few months since I tried to fix this problem I just disconnected the TCC PWM solenoid from the PCM for awhile to get rid of the symptoms. Since I'm planning a 2600 mile road trip at the beginning of July I decided to go ahead and fix the problem. I check the harness for continuity while I had it apart and it seemed fine. I'm wondering if it's the TAPS needing to be reset since I have a new PCS and TCC PWM. Oh yea, I also installed a Sonnax TCC apply valve while I was in there.
does it do the surging in 3 rd gear at light throttle by any chance? bounce the tach like 200 to 300 rmp?
I believe it's third gear, I was ~30 MPH going up hill and it surged. On the HWY it has the exact same behavior, just in 4th.
mine did that for about 2, 3 months then i lost 3 rd gear. it was cheaper to find a used tranny and swap it. i forget what i was told was wrong with it. spur gears or something like that in 3 rd gear. needs a full rebuild when this happens.
I know it's TCC related, because if I set my foot on the brake the PCM disables TCC. That, and if I disconnect the TCC PWM solenoid the problem goes away, I just loose the ability to lockup. At this point, I'm thinking it's either the TAPS, the valve body\channel plate, or the torque converter itself. It just irritates me that the first test drive was fine. I came home and checked the fluid, added about a quart, checked it again after cycling the gears, and it was fine. Drove it again, and the pulsing is back.
mine did all that too. tap the brake the rpm's should go up 200. that normal behavior.
if you unplug the round plug on the side of the tranny see if it goes through all the gears or stays in 3 rd.
Completely unplug the round plug on the side of the transmission and drive the car? Wouldn't that be a bad idea? I know it's not permanent or anything, but it's safe to test drive like that? What does it mean if it stays in third?
its what Bill had me do when mine was acting up. your not driving it far trust me, you'll know in 10 feet if its in 3 rd gear or not.
It stayed in third, but it took another 2 quarts. So far I'm up to 8 quarts, Navyman called for 10 with his, so I'm waiting for it to go down again. It still oscillates in and out of TCC though.
Went to my other uncle's house today, his 89 voyager's trans side pan was leaking , bought a new pan on rockauto in case it was due to rust. Turns out the pan they have listed for that car is the wrong one, so I inspected the old and it looks like just the gasket failed, but it was rusty. What I think really happened on the oem pan was that the paint flaked off the pan, because when I took it off I saw rusty metal on the pan, and the paint and rty was still on the transmission. I cleaned it up to bare metal and rtv'd it. And to make sure it doesn't rust through like it looks like it might do in the next few years, I brushed axle grease all over it so it should last.
Edit: I actually bought the part on amazon and used rockauto's part #. Amazon gave a full refund and no return needed.
The A/C is still working in my GP gladly, used that the whole way.

Oh yea, and the transmission is running hotter, it was at 186*F. Not hot by any means, but it has never broken 175*F before. Also, I was reading up on the solenoids, and when neither solenoid gets power (the connector unplugged) the transmission defaults the 3rd gear. http://www.tripleedgeperformance.com...Tech-Info.html
How do you know the trans temp on a 2000?
