I gave it an oil change and ordered supercharger oil from amazon because I don't think it was ever changed and it has 130k miles.

I want to give mine an oil change, oil is dark after 2k miles but thats all city miles. Also thinking of getting new trans cooler lines and putting my hayden in series with the stock cooler. If I had the 404 I'd be fine with it running alone but the 403 is a bit small.

Yeah if you wouldn't mind. I'd like to do a trans cooler and shift kit at some point this summer.

did a oil change on a 2011 camry today, as the oil was draining it started to rain, then i looked for the filter, and well i dont really see one. off to the net to look this up. seems toyota made themselves a paper oil filter cartridge and a reusable filter housing. and the parts store gave my friend a purulator, well that just wont work will it lol

so needless to say, all he got was a oil change cause it was dumped out already.

i kinda like this idea. you can take a good look at whats on the filter with ease.

Okay I'm uploading them, I'll update this with a link. I mounted it vertical this time but went back and made it horizontal later which is better.

They're out of order, I'll try and order them

I just did a hayden cooler install on a dodge nitro at work and it went really easy, I did full double flares on the old metal lines so they're very solid connections. I only did partial flares on mine since I wasnt sure if the hose would go over a full flare. They will.

I believe some Mercedes have had that for awhile, its up on top. Actually, thats what was on the 283 in my 67 Impala. They called it "canister type" (of course Chevys leaked) and yes it gives you a much better opportunity to catch oil related problems. I like that, too.

Fished thru a pile of bad 99 GP passenger blend door actuators in the garage today and finally found one that works, woohoo! Of course it was the last one I tried. I always seem to find things in the last place I look, ha ha.

Hey, I'll tell you of another strange one. The purple car in my sig has a washable transmission filter. I think it goes with the deep pan maybe. But its made like a brass carb float with the pickup pipe brazed on. Inside the brass box is a metal mesh brick. You are supposed to run carb cleaner thru it until clean and then blow it out. With around 100K on a modded rebuilt TH400, it must work OK. Old school as hell though, I haven't been able to find modern parts to replace it.

The only o-ring to ever worry about is the big o-ring for sealing it off. Those little o-rings I never change unless someohow damaged, they don't really serve a purpose in my eyes when you look at the design.

Ecotec's, toyota, hyundai and boat loads of other cars are switching to that design likely because it's cheaper.

did you know that Buick for 1 year(that i know of) got ride of the oil filter. but everyone put an after market oil filter on because the dirty oil would cause premature ware and cause the engine to blow. that engine also had a lifter issue too

EDIT: that was back in 1938

Today I cut open my trans filter that was in service fro 0 - 110,275 miles. There were little pieces of brass looking thin shreds and little tiny pieces of fibers or something. Rather empty though, I'm cool with that. I may go and take a pic

What would make a noise that sounds like a train whistle under a decent amount of throttle around 4k? I'm hearing weird sounds today.

Partial boost or a vacuum leak or you just need to ignore mirror things.
