I drive this car to work 5 days a week, three miles away.
With no traffic, I can get home from work in 12 minutes.
However, I'm often forced to sit behind one lane backup every morning besides Saturday.
Side streets get me to work quickly after i can cross the train tracks and ditch the one lane road, taking around 18 minutes.
I'm seeing 200-220 miles from ~15 gallons of winter blend 93...
    thus ~13-15 city mpg.
I need a daily driver for all this idling.

computer says i average 13.5 miles city, and about 18 highway. I dont doubt it either, I have quite a lead foot. I feel like it should be better though?!

lol that's right where it should be I would say.

You can't expect to be a lead foot and get better gas mileage, if you hope to improve your mileage, your rpm's have to be under 3k.

I drive somewhat normally and still manage to pull off 16-18 mpg in the city.

I've probably wrote this before but this seems to be helping me alot. I drive 30min to an from work. 90% hwy. I was getting some pretty crappy mileage. I've recently tried not to beat on it like a whore and kept my rpm's no higher than 2200rpm at cruise. If you encounter a slight grade so what keep your foot there. You will slow down some sure... but you'll speed back up when you get to a downhill grade or level grade. This has taken my crappy mileage of 20-21mpg combined to almost 27mpg. Alot has to do with your tune as well granted but 80% of it is your right foot and the distance you are driving.

Also try to keep your tires properly inflated.

Just a little tid bit I thought I would share again.

About 25-26 around town beating on ricers, playing road warrior. I once saw 28.1. From Orlando, to Miami, to Vero Beach I got 27.6 running 80-90 except inside Vero And Miami city limits.

Not sure how much on a full tank yet but just filled up and with using an eighth tank of gas I've pulled 70.3 miles. With 50/50 city/highway. Rather surprised with the factory fuel filter, kinda a dirty air filter, and a need of new plugs and wires. Wondering what brands you guys have found best use in filters and plugs, I was thinking ac delco for the plugs, wires, and fuel filter then either wix for a temp air filter or K&N for a more permanent replacement, any input? Thanks

Delco for plugs, wires, fuel and trans filter.

Note delco trans is an SPX Filtran filter. Unsure of origin of other delco products minus or filter. Those are champion labs econo design and should be avoided if you fear fram filters.

I'm enjoying my amsoil air filter more than either of my k&n's.

Okay, thanks, on the car i owned before my gp, a 2000 jetta tdi, i had a K&N cold air intake i customized to fit the MAF into and on the forums for that everyone said that K&N is the MAF killer. I was just wondering if the sentiment here is similiar.

Eh... Only if you over oil.

However they don't seem to be the best at filtration which is key to engine life.
