Also would love to figure out how to have the heated seats come on with the remote start and have it last 20 min. 10 mins does not cut the frost up here.

They say to perform the same function again but you have to there to do it.

So if you set the remote start and let it run for 8-9min, then re-did the remote start with it running it would run for up to 18-19min with a maximum of 20min allowed. As far as I know there is no other way to make it longer in a single hit of the remote start.

As for my mpg, I got 10.6 in my truck last tank and I use my remote start everyday now LOL.

I do the dual start most mornings. If you donut while it's still running I think it turns it off so I do 10 and then another 5-10. Just a pain to do the second one.

The reason GM chose not to have the remote start last 20 minutes is because over time it will cause damage to the cat converter.

I can't bring myself to even believe that. It really makes no difference if I went out and put my keys in the ignition and let it run for 20+ min, it's not going to damage the converters anymore than just regular run time. I've worked on company vehicles and seen several police cars will north of 4,000-5,000 idle hours and the cats are still doing fine, sure the odd one fails here and there though.

I'm sure it's an emissions thing. Wonder if I can adjust it with a tech 2?

I couldn't find any options In our tech 2 but not sure it is all updated on that end. I can live with it. Wonder if anyone has wired the heated seat with a hard toggle switch so that it would come on with the remote start.

Maybe just run a wire with a switch from the defroster relay to the heated seat relay lol. That would work. And with a diode in the middle so the heated seats won't turn the defroster on.

It's not gonna happen the first time dude. You have to do it consistently and what you're forgetting is when people sit in traffic, the car is at operating tempature vs firing up the car when the engine is cold. Emission system is in closed loop when it's not at operating tempature and it's in open loop at op temp

You have that last part backwards, vehicle run in open loop when cold and closed loop when hot. Open loop doesn't use fuel trims to make corrections and closed loop does. Most are set to switch over at 100-130ยบ coolant temp.

That's why they have open loop adder tables because in the cold it won't run at 14.7 commanded afr right away, they run at 12-13 afr in most cases to keep the engine running.
