brakes are easy. just pull the two caliper bracket bolts and take the bracket and caliper as one part. then clamp the piston back in and slap that nice new rotor in place, load the pads and drop that whole part back on there. easy peasy.

Well, I planned to do them today. But, I do believe I’m going to wait until I get the new tires. I just got my vhic so now I can use the hobby shop on base, figure I’ll do tires, wheels, control arms, brakes, trans filter and tcc solenoid in one day on the lift.

Yeah, it definitely makes life easier. But we’ll see what the waitlist is like. I think it’s only a 3 bay shop. Haven’t been on base in a while.

Looked at pricing, it’s going to cost me a whopping 60 bucks to use the lift, tire machine and balancer for a full day, 9-530. Lol.

Didn't even know u can rent lifts, nice! We're building a new 5k ft² shop to work out of. When the boss told me, I told him we need a lift. I was half joking. He said ok, just like that. He is gonna be storing some of his cars there, and I do basic maintenance on our vans. So hopefully this summer I'll have a lift.

Well, technically the rental is just the shop time. But, if you’re a disabled vet, you can use the shops, aafes shops and commissary. Not a bad deal. The main downside is that the hours are kind of crappy. It’s m-f, 9-530 and Saturday 9-12.

New tires in tomorrow. Cooper evolution all seasons. I figured I’d stay with cooper as I’ve had good luck in the past.

Tires are in! Ups even placed them in the back yard. He knows our dog and brings him treats, we’ve even came home to notes that MAC was hot so he led him into his pool and hosed him down. Ups sucks, but on the logistical and corporate side.

Also, I was going to get them mounted tomorrow, but the tire machine and balancer are already rented through the day. So just using the lift for brakes, control arms, trans filter, output seals and the tcc solenoid.

Well, any and all work on this thing is at a halt. Lugnuts need to be cut off. Snapon impact wouldn’t remove the lugnuts, bent several jack handles and a 1/2” breaker bar trying to get them off.

damn, that blows. you can buy new studs and put them in, way cheaper then 4 new hubs. still best to take the hubs off to replace em tho.

Not yet. After the base gate debacle, I’m over it. Going to pay the tire shop to change tires, hopefully that’ll get the broke free, let it be their issue. Lol. As for now, drunk after a hale and farewell to a family member. At the bar now. Two sheets to the wind.

So I hosed the lugs/nuts with pb, on to the tire shop in the morning before work. We have a third vehicle, so if studs snap it’s not too big of a deal, just going to cost me more in gas commuting in the truck.

All done. New tires on. Control arms, brakes, trans filter, tcc solenoid will all be done next weekend. It’s already like driving a new car, absolutely zero vibration at highway speeds now. It’s actually a pleasure to drive! These coopers are quiet too!!!
